need help in choosing a binoculars.

I want to buy a good binoculars decided want 50mm front lens any thing lower or higher is not appropriate.

purpose : found there is a bird sanctuary juat 10kms from my house in Goa. planning to go there next month.

articles on Google are quite vague.

Bought this from US Amazon for $80 a year back(through a US friend).
Very good upto 1 km or so.
You will need some time to adjust focus.
I say you need at least this much powerful for bird watching.
I never had chance to watch birds so far with this binoc.

Thanks will get nikon range checked up and do a price compare. if substantially cheaper in usa will buy tbere since nephew is landing from Florida on 6th may.
