At the moment the difference is only 7k between both of them. I am NOT a hardcore gamer, and wont be using this to play Call of Duty or Halo or GOW.. I enjoy racing and sports games mainly. The Nitro has an 8th gen I7 and MX150 graphics, while the the Helios has a GTX 1050 + SSD DRIVE as well, but its 8th gen i5.

I want to buy something that will allow me run games on mid level for the next 2/3 years. Any ideas please.

The Predator without a doubt. 8550U is a 15W CPU and it will sustain its Turbo clocks for less than a minute before failing to 2.6-3.0GHz depending on the cooling solution. 8300H has a 45W TDP and can sustain much higher clock speeds. However in games GPU is the dominant factor. 1050/1050Ti are anywhere from 60-90% faster than MX150 which is a rebranded GT 1030. For gaming at 1080p60 at decent details MX150 ain’t sufficient even now let alone 2-3 years later (exceptions do exist ) . BTW the first option comes for 48-49k frequently. I have the i5 version and Acer has crippled it cooling wise so that clocks fall to ~2.6GHz less than half a minute later. Good display though with deep blacks and sufficiently high peak brightness.
P.S. New Nvidia GPUs are expected in  the next several weeks.

Would you choose the Predator over this? They look exactly the same to me

Is building a desktop not a possibility? Most of the gaming laptops are plagued by thermal management issues. A GTX 1070 can be had for just 33k whereas  laptops sporting it cost north of 150k. And the delicious freedom of getting the display of your choice. But back to your query there are mixed reviews with quite a few users reporting issues with overheating and thermal throttling. Not that the Predator is a whole lot better in this regard though.
