School days are indeed the best. The pranks/games we played, getting punished for them, first crush, annual day, summer vacations & other holidays, PT period, etc. Lots of memories that will never fade away.
Let’s get to know more about each other this Children’s Day. Comment your school name & city/area below and if possible you may share some memories about those days. We have some young dimers too who would still be in school. It would be great if you can share some of your experiences.
We will pick 5 comments & credit 100 Dimes each on 16th Nov.
This update is for correcting some mistake in my english, while I am not a english teacher….😊
Some of the best school memories are:
Playing cricket with paper/tape ball in class during free-period. Even during exam days we would play using card-boards as bats. (I think card-boards are not allowed anymore in exams)
Pen fights

There so much different from that time to this time in the schooling..
once upon a time we have to pay what we study
but now, we have to study for what we are paying (education is full business now)

It happened when I was in 8th grade. Our classroom was adjacent to the boys washroom. There was my friend who was the most funny guy of our whole batch. One day it so happened that the physics teacher (we used to call him ‘meetha’ 😛) asked him to leave the class, then he slipped away to the washroom and started shouting ‘Meetha…Meetha’ 🤣. That was one of the most funny moments I lived with.
I went to DPS Korba located in Chhattisgarh.
Proud to have studied from best school in city. Teachers were amazing and very talented.
The sporting spirit which I have is from my school and gives me fight-back vibes when I feel low in life.
Although an average student, I was never ignored by anyone including teachers and that gave me immense self respect and courage to do new and bold.
Can’t forget school days in my life, will surely teach my kids all good lessons I learnt.

Celebrating birthday at school: A pretty good chance of becoming famous and roaming about the whole school with your friend showing off with your sweets stuff.
Curiosity in the last period: Accompanied by the recitation of “Chutti hone wali hai rail ka dibba khaali hai!”
Convincing the teacher to give a “GOOD” remark in the notebooks : And then comparing your no. of ‘goods’with those of your friend’s.:)(We used to do it even in class 10th)
Ecstasy at being succesful in saving pt period from that strict subject teacher.
Changing seats during substitution periods.
Staring at the school office in the mornings to check whether sir /mam X has yet come or not: And then wishing “Yaar kaash aaj vo absent ho jaayein” (Trans. Wish he/she is absent today). And telling everybody around “Hey mam/sir X is absent today”in case he/she was absent.

It’s really hard to tell i almost attended 20+ schools this is the price i’d to pay for being a child of any honest non corrupt electrical engineer.
My father being strict ,honest n non corrupt he was always transferred from one place to another wthing 4-5 months so till age of 6 i’ve changed almost 9 schools 4 CBSE based 5 ICSE based.
Later when i was at 2nd standard he was then transferred to rural area where any English medium schools are hard to find so i we decided to go for Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir n joined Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir in ATHAGARH. Then from 2nd to 5th i stick to Saraswati Shishu Mandir but at diff places3.
At 6th std i gave BOARD school entrance exam qualified and studied there from 6th to 10th.
Did my intermediate in Science at Ravenshaw Jr college then called Ravenshaw University.
Did my graduation in civil engineering from NIT CALICUT.
Did my POST-graduation in Water resouces engineering from NIT Rourkela .
NIT… Atleast one from NIT is found..
Well, Now I’m a teacher in a govt school, shakarpur, delhi… And class teacher of class 7th. Children are so funny, energetic, and lovely. Sometimes other teachers complain me that Sir, you never scold your students… This boy is doing this that, I yell on them in front of that sir and when other sir left me… I simply says my students , go and sit down…. I understand that this is right age to enjoy them, why do i spoil their fun. Just, one thing i have said to my students…. “Work while you work and play while you play”. Sometimes when i sit ideal and think about them, I feel myself that once I was also one of them… I love my students and they love me also, that’s what i was looking for.
