My World Cup – 2015 Contest
Prizes Worth Rs. 7,500 /-
February 14th – March 29th
How to participate
All you have to do is, share your 11 members team in this thread and earn points.
- You Can Select – 5 Batsmans, 5 Bowlers & 1 Wicketkeeper (For the First 42 Matches)
- Every run scored by the batsman, bowler or wicketkeeper – 1 point
- Every wicket taken by batsman or bowler – 20 points
- Every stumping, catch taken by wicketkeeper – 20 points
- For every day matches – You can predict below 2 question and it will fetch you 20 points per correct answer.
If bowler in your team does not ball minimum 25 overs through out the tournament then his name will not be considered for final points calculation.
All team entries must be submitted by 13th February 12:00 A.M
Once you share your team, you cannot change it till match number 42. Only corrections will be allowed (if any).

Q2. Who will be the man of the match ?
Daily prediction must come in 1 hour before the start of each match.

The World cup is starting on 14th Feb and the first match (i.e. NZ vs SL) will be played at 3:30 AM as per Indian Time…And you have mentioned the timings of the entries before 14th Feb 9AM….I request you to change the timings…..

Absolutely not.
AB & Amla are top 2 of ICC list & a fool or non-follower will keep AB out of his team after his bizarre 149.
David Warner has given me some precious dimes in some contest. So he is kinda lucky charm.
Corey & Williamson are direct entrants due to New Zealand’s fabulous form. Guptill, McCullum & Ross were the other choices.
I had to spend some time to choose between Virat, Rohit & Clarke. Virat was completely out of form in the last series. Out of the (often) injured 2, I chose the one who is more consistent.
Between De Kock, Sanga and Dhoni, I chose Kock as he bats up the order & will get more chances to catch.
Dilshan had to be included in the bowlers’ list to accommodate for Clarke. He is no.5 in ICC ranking.
Maxwell is my fav player since IPL.
Sakib & Hafeez (injured) are the only 2 allrounders in ICC top 10 bowlers’ list. So they were obvious choice.
I had a tough time to choose between Moeen Ali, Faulkner, Starc & M. Marsh. Faulkner was my initial choice. But he has a record of injuries. Starc bats down the order. So is Marsh. Moeen opens in the batting order & can roll his arm for the full quota. So he got the final nod.
Hope it satisfies your doubt.
BTW, I had a list of at least 40 players in mind which included newbies like Sohail Khan, Yasir Shah, Trent Boult, C. Woakes & veterans like Misbah, Afridi, Gayle, Watson etc. It took me around 2 hours to jot down all the names & see their recent performance before finalising.

This time also Lahore won’t celebrate. 
World Cup without Sachin will be a bit empty. Those who followed him since 1989 or 1992 will surely miss him more. 
Sehwag doesn’t count. I missed Gilchrist, Akram, the Glen Pigeon, Warnie, Mad Maxx, etc. in the previous editions of the World Cup.
