Once i did this trick with MTS and the next word cc guy told me was
……Aap ko hui asuvida ke liye hame khed hai.
Agle 4 ghante me aapka connection band ho jayega. Aur aapse aaj tak ka bill hi charge kiya jayega.
Apka din shubh ho.

Dongle waste ho gaya hero banne ke chakkar me. Phir maine local oprator ka wireless lagwaya because in my area there was no airtel bsnl etc.

LOL
Use some common sense Guys.
Don’t blindly mail them to disconnect the connection.

Here are some PRO tips for Free-free-free :
1. You should NOT request disconnection atleast within first 3 months of taking the connection.

2. You should NOT mail them for disconnection again within a gap of 45-60 days. It should ideally be 60+ days.

3. You should CHECK your own worth according to Airtel with the following thumb rules :-
a) The monthly rental you pay to them. For customers on higher rental value plans (above say INR 2000), the retention team will be much more persuasive.
b) The period from which your connection is active also decides your worth. Older the user, more valuable she/he is.

4. Then, the e-mail you write to them should be realistic and you should highlight problems with Airtel broadband in your area.
The retention team will not actually check the problems are genuine or not.
Hence, they will try to persuade you to continue with discounts offering for lack of their service quality.

In fact, here, I would like to point out that the Retention team does not even know whether there is any other BB operator in your area or not !

5. In the end, on call, ask them the best they’ve got for you.
The special offers are not random and they are as per your worth to company and previous bargaining you have done with them.

6. As a complimentary tip, You can also ask them to give some free Smartbytes (extra GBs) also, besides a rental discount. https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_cool.gif
And ofcourse, including INR 99 free Local + STD calling packing for free within the plan rental.

Hope it helps Dimers.;-}

→ Even if Airtel disconnects your broadband, you are likely to get a call again on your number. They might (should) offer partly waiver of bill as well as incentives on getting it reconnected. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif

It says “Airtel-UL-Special 999”. Its a 4Mbps plan. Post 110GB speed gets reduced to 512kbps.

It’s been 1 month that I’m using bsnl 249 plan with 1mbps fup and I’m pretty happy with that considering free nation wide calls on Sunday and other day @9:00pm to 7:00am. Speed is good with no throttle. YouTube can be enjoyed @480p for a single person. Download speed is 125-150KB/s. For six months rent is 249 + 15% tax. After six months plan would be 499 + 15% tax. Is okay compared to the expenses that I used in mobile data…

What is the intial charge to take bsnl 249 plan ? Installation is free but what other charges are there ?

Let me share my experiences. First i called an agent from bsnl and he filled up the forms for new LL & BB and the relevant docx. i.e. id& address proof.

For charges, i had to pay him first month plan charges Rs.249/-, Security deposit Rs.500/-, Modern cost Rs.1500/- since they force you to take the modem, and his cost Rs.250/- since he did all the job and i got the connection done by 4 working days and those two men who came to fix the line, never bothered to ask any money. So prior getting the connection i paid all total: 249+500+1500+250 = 2500/-

Now when i got the bill it’s of Rs.1208/- and 748 got adjusted, so i had to pay 460/-for the first month which includes the telephone cost Rs.600/-

Now let me elaborate: Telephone cost: 600/-, Installation charge: 600/-, Security deposit: 500/-,
Total: 1700/-
Now minus the installation charge: 600/-
So: 1100/- and Plan: 249 or below/- (Prorata base for first month)

For me 1100+108 = 1208/- total bill amount including 15% tax.
Then they deducted or adjusted the security deposit 500/- and the plan 249/- so total 749,/-that i paid earlier upon taking the connection.

So total to pay: 1208-749 = 459 (460 making some decimal round figure)

From the next 5 months if i only make calls after 9pm till 7am and using unlimited internet, I’m having to pay only 249+15% tax. Total: 249+37.35 = 286.35/- only.

And after 6th months, plan would get migrated to 499/- + 15% tax amounting: 499+74.85 = 573.85/- only.

Now i don’t know how they would adjust that advanced plan charge of Rs.499/- like i paid for my 249 plan early of the month.

My all total cost:
Plan: 249/-
SD: 500/-
Modem: 1500/-
Extra: 251/-
First month Bill: 460/-

Total: 2960/-

For you (assuming) average cost could be:
Plan: 249/-
SD: 500/-
Modem: 1500/-
Phone: 600/-

Total: 2850/- considering if you don’t pay anything to the agent and get the connection from 1st day of the month. For my case I applied on 15th and my connection started on 20th, so my first month plan charge was 108 only, not 249/-

Anyway, I feel good enough to bear the 286 monthly for 6 months and thereafter 574 for continuation. Might change my mind if JioFiber comes up in-between, considering 500 for 600GB/month.

But so far happy with unlimited 1mbps + no downtime and unlimited nation calling on Sunday and rest days at night!

Cheers…

Just 1 more question how to contact bsnl agent for taking bb+ll connection, any working number ?

Don’t worry. Just visit your regional/nearest bsnl office/branch where you get the form from. And ask them if any one is there like agent who can fill up the form on your behalf. Probably they would provide the number, as the connection can be taken either by self or by agent. Having office job, i preferred to go for an agent as they provided me the number saying to call him for assistance, and indeed he did the needful… Hope your experience goes as smooth as mine… And ya somehow if you manage to get the connection activated, trust me you won’t regret. You can watch YouTube at 360 with an ease and download speed in idm would be around 125-150 KBPS and so far no downfall…
Hopefully bsnl would migrate the fup speed soon into 2mbps considering the upcoming competition in mind. So best for domestic users…
Cheers…

BSNL 249 and then 499 plan is really good. The plan has improved since the last post last year. Now the plan offers 8mbps speed till 10GB and then goes to 2mbps. The 2mbps speed never comes it remains 1.4/1.5 mbps.

The speed is so good that my new Amazon Fire Stick also works on that speed and give HD resolution. But the speed is not sufficient for live TV (1.4/5 mbps) . If the live TV, a cricket match on hotstar, also comes on HD then I can disconnect the DTH.

So I am thinking of going to Airtel 699 plan. That provides 30GB at 40mbps then 1mbps + 500 GB till march’18. I think after 6 months I will apply the process given on this thread to improve the plan further. Else will return to BSNL 249 Plan.
