Nah...I am not rich enough to collect them. Since High-end audio is a niche market and Indians prefer budget over quality, there very few takers for these products so only way to experience these products is to buy and try. At places like Singapore many such specialist shops stock all the brands possible with latest up-gradations and allow just anyone to walk in and audition them even if the equipments cost $5000. We Indians don't have that luxury. As for your requirements, yes a cheap pair of headphones should work for your mother but most often those will have harsh-screechy treble(painful for elderly or bloated with bass equally painful) hence try to audition one at any store before making the purchase. For your father I am not really sure what speaker to suggest in this price segment but if you want to go wireless with headphones Sennheiser RS120 is a good choice. Only restriction is that it can't be used as portable,the headphone 'set' works in two parts the base and the headphones. Base broadcasts the signal and the headphones has inbuilt receiver(since it's not based on bluetooth). Range would be good enough for roaming wirelessly upto adjacent floors. Yes, Creative has 'Aurvana' line of headphones both wired and wireless(bluetooth+ANC) sold in India too but I haven't heard it. ANC degrades audio quality considerably, after a stint with ANC headphones I look at headphones with better seal/isolation instead. Bose QC series is not bad as far as ANC goes but like all Bose is definitely not worth the money. Forget high-end, headphones in range of 30-45k are still called mid-range(in American budget). But still there are certain products like Sennheiser HD600(not available in India) and HD650(priced ridiculously high in India) for which the aam-janta if can afford would go for. The HD650 which is priced under 20k in UK is sold by for 33k or more here. For classicals there is nothing as good as Hd600(uptil mid-range) but the cost of amplifier to run these will set you back by another 15-20k(low budget for Muricans). Get those 'Superlux headphones' I posted in this thread are good for classical too but again elderly rarely do like wearing headphones. About the headphones: These are one of the best headphone ever made and for this price these are a steal. You will need a good amplifier to make the best use of them. I have another variant of these headphones so can personally vouch for them.
