I read somewhere that Name can be changed in Aadhaar only twice according to some notification in Nov’19, is this true?
If this is true, how can this be done beyond limit? Has anyone done it?
I’ve already changed my name twice; dropped lastname once, added lastname again due to company requirement. I want to permanently remove it one last time.

That’s why I had included it in the first place. The problem is my educational certificates all have only first name. I want to make all uniform now
Then make an affidavit stating ’"firstname astname" and “firstname” are same person.
Is that valid for all legal purposes and wherever name mismatch issue may appear in future?
You are not suggesting a Name change affidavit but another one stating person with First Name and FirstName + LastName are same, right?
How much does this cost, approx?
Never tried to change but my Aadhaar+PAN First Name and Last Name are interchanged
and have only used the correct sequence for all my Bank+Loan accounts…Never had any problem till date but is there any chance of this turning out to be a problem in the future?
Hard to say but it’s better to have same name everywhere. Govt. will be doing an NPR/NRC in future so I don’t want this issue to come up at that time. You know how indian officials work, they want slightest of excuse to extract money.

That’s what I had thought earlier. Getting name changed in newspaper, notary and gazatte can be done with money but getting name changed in all educational certificates even after all this is a herculean task, 10th, 12th, graduation, post graduation. No man. On top of that, CBSE has officially mentioned on its website about name change available only one year after exam, no later.
That’s why I’m looking at alternatives.
An affidavit stating FirstName and FirstName+LastName person are same seems to be the easiest way out.
How many times can the address be changed in Aadhaar? Any time boundation?
I changed my surname, haven’t updated in educational documents but all id’s are updated. Forgot to change it when dad added me as a guarantee on business loan – it doesn’t reflect in my CIBIL. Now have two CIBIL – one with old surname and one with new with same PAN. Older one has a high score due to loan. It does reflect correctly in other credit agencies. Should I contact CIBIL?
There are no limits on Address I think because people keep moving from place to place all their life.

why do ppl remove lastnames , and if removed what will they do when last name option comes in any form (in online form it is mandatory)

I didn’t remove it. My 10th certificate doesn’t have it, back then I didn’t bother because I didn’t know it would become so critical.
change your name officially through gazetted notification.
What about the one on education documents?

Don’t ever think of that.
You’ll face many authentication failure in e-kycs and aadhar based form-fill ups.
As in most of the systems ‘last name’ parameter is coded as ‘required’.
And if the system fails to fetch the ‘last name’ parameter it will throw an error.
Moral of the story- don’t think of removing your last name.
