I have a BlueStar Inverter AC (1.5 Ton) and the amc which i procured from Bluestar last year by paying 5900/- 
is going to expire this month. They have quoted that for renewal i need to pay 6500/-
I learned a lesson that there i no point in buying inverter ac with huge amount as there is no savings as the amc cost are exponentially higher than normal ac.my bad. 
i would like to avail help from dimers whether anybody has any alternatives for not procuring the amc and rather stick to a home insurance. if i take a home insurance will i be able to make a claim when my ac breaks down.
has any dimer had any experience.

i donno abt others, but i think u donot need maintenance at all during the initial years for the ac except for the airfilter cleaning. i have bought my room ac before 8 years and asked for service only last year for which the company charged me 650 which was completely not worth as he just cleaned the evaporator fins using a brush. this year bought a cleaning spray and cleaned it myself. instead of spending 6k + a year on amc it is better to use the money and then replace the airconditioner when it ages.
Approx 6k per year for AMC, when most of the times this will work without any issue or damage for few years, seems like too much. Better to take a risk and not get an AMC at all. :p

but then thought of getting a home insurance which will cover all the appliances which should be fine..but need some insights from somebody who has taken home insurance and raised claims for any damages to know how feasible it is…
Airfliter only requires cleaning, I myself clean it every month in summer. All other things they say for marketing are just gimmick.
Buy new ac after it breaks down after 10 yr.
