Airtel forcing monthly recharges. How to get all consumers together and raise complaint?

Hi all, As all of you know airtel and Vodafone is now forcing monthly recharges on all its consumers to continue using incoming/outgoing services.

My main balance in my airtel mobile no is 113 Rs. Suddenly I have started receiving messages from airtel that my outgoing services will be stopped by 12th Nov 2018. 
And after 15 days my incoming will also be stopped. When I had recharged there was such no condition and my validity for my balance was unlimited. Now they have changed the validity and are requesting me to recharge for Smart packs of 35/65 Rs with limited validity to continue my outgoing services. 
On talking to 198 customer service no also, they are saying that the main balance will be there, but you have to recharge for smart packs in addition to continue using the  incoming/outgoing services. This is completely unacceptable.  
Why should I recharge extra, when my main balance is still present and why should I pay more for using the services.  
This is completely against consumer rights. How should all the consumers unite and raise a complaint against this. Plz all comment who are facing this issue and help.

Vodafone is doing the same, received msg that outgoing call will be stopped from 20th November.

I’m thinking of porting to jio just because of this.

My outgoing was stopped on 25th october and i was unable to make any call from my number. I am having a balance of 440 rs and now it had become useless for me. I argued with the airtel customer care but they said it was a regulation from TRAI and there was nothing they can do about it. Airtel has become total fraud and a pro plus looter. Competition with JIO has made airtel mad.

Can we recharge after outgoing gets stopped on that number?
Till how much time will the sim remain active after outgoing on that sim gets stopped?
Anyone has any idea abt it?

Port out to Jio !
Airtel , idea , Vodafone have same policy , my 2 numbers invalidated by Idea , Vodafone , have much balance as well , so worst service !

Also small recharges not working anymore !

Dont worry jio was killing them but it seems they are trying to kill themselves. Simply port to jio. When even 20% customers leave impact will be big and they will resort to friendly plans with lifetime validity.

The point is, for non using numbers, we do recharges in small amount, just for SMS charges if we use any, and keep that number alive for months…. Without recharging big. Just top up once and can keep many months…

But in case of jio, we need to recharge it for every month… No top ups here….
So jio is not useful

For idea u can recharge unlimited pack by dailing USSD code Delhi Idea User can try *150*unlomited pack amount # balance will be deducted from main balance and unlimited pack will be active and Airtel User can complain to pgportal for use main balance

I did not get any such message yet. Last month Vodafone had deactivated my number and I had to get a new sim with recharge of Rs. 178. They were first insisting on getting it converted to postpaid and pay Rs. 450 and then I argued with them to make it prepaid with minimum recharge else I’ll port the number.

Any specific rule from TRAI or DOT which states such criteria??

If not then we can as consumers can raise our voice
DD is a very a big platform and large number of users are affected while most of them are unaware of it.

Guys, please try to find out first that if TRAI or DOT has layed any such rule regarding disconnection of the sim.

They already got approval from TRAI. They are not disconnecting the line. They not providing the service as we are not recharging it regularly. The service will be disconnected permanently only when the service is not used for 60 days due to unusage rule.

BSNL also does the same. All networks. They also got approval from TRAI (as per the vodafone customer care)

Not only Airtel all networks including BSNL. They are not able to survive. So they follow how JIO does … monthly/quaterly mandatory recharge

They’re taking the 80/20 principle too seriously. They’re trying to keep 20% of customer who generate 80% of their revenue. rolleyes rolleyes

I was also using Airtel due to network coverage but seems no good in keeping up with it.

Last month recharged with 28 days validity. After which validity revised from 29th Oct 18 to 2021. Now again it is showing 15 Nov 2018.

Gonna port out to BSNL just to keep the number in service. sweat sweat

Vodafone disconnected my number for almost 5 days even when there is 57rs main balance.After asking cc,number got reactivated but they were not able to tell the exact reason for disconnection.
P.S.- Disconnection means no service,0 bars of signal.I’ve another SIM of vodafone which was working perfectly so there was no network/tower issue.

One of my number they disconnected last month itself. I had 0 balance. They told me that the plans are changed now and I need to recharge every month. Last month the minimum amount for recharging was Rs.25. From this month onward they changed to Rs.35.

There is a minimal recharge of Rs.10 in some of the networks but it will add it to main balance and will not add any service validity.

imp Yes, Airtel &idea are worst. Recently they are not also giving fecility to do Recharge plan from Main balance. Though I have Recharged Airtel with 100*4=400ful talk time, I am still unable to Recharge on my own plan . And now they telling me to Recharge direct plan not talk time. Finally they are cheating all customers. Was the Recharge I made 100Talktime is not related to the Airtel??. Then whats their problem to activate plan from Main balance????

There is no full talk time plans anymore. And You cannot recharge using your main balance (pay from balance option). If you do, it will not work.

moreover we cant even recharge unlimted plans from airtel balance and this move is really painful to lot many users like my grandma recharges around 50 and that was sufficient for her but now no way to do that .

everyone should lodge complaints on pgportal against TRAI for failing to stop such unauthorised blocking despite having balance. last time I checked, the operator can only deduct an amount from main balance if the number is not in use over 90 days but can not stop service as long as there is main balance. the more the number of complaints, the quicker TRAI would be forced to act.
Note : Complaint should be against TRAI and not against Airtel/Voda as pgportal is primarily for govt entities/authorities.
