I am not able to send or receive sms from my airtel sim card since last two weeks. I was using Moto E. Then upon reading previous post, I tried to check the sim in a Nokia handset. I set the SMSC and other settings but still I wasnt able to send any sms. When I am dialing *121# it prompts “This service is not alllowed”. Many airtel users have faced this issue (read on internet). The motive behind this post is to get firsthand solution to this issue from users who have faced and solved this problem. Please help me out here.

Solution : I called up airtel complaint number 198 and directly went on to talk to a cc representative. I told him about the issue and asked him to transfer my call to a higher authority. He raised my complaint and I even asked him to enable sim services from their end if they have been disabled. He said the complaint wud be resolved in 48 hours but ig it was resolved within 12hours. Hopefully this works for anybody else who faces the same problem.

Here is the best solution for your problem Airtel Message Center Number from here.
Try Changing the message service no(Messages> Setting> More Setting> Text Messages> Message Centre) to +919895051914 (For Airtel Kerala Circle) and input mode to automatic. (Other states try calling airtel customer care; dial 198 or 121 and go for blackerry services to talk directly to customer service representative).
Hope this helps
I was facing similar problem when I converted my sim from 3G to 4G. I tried everything but no results. Also there is no sms centre number of UP East circle on any website. I contacted [email protected] and [email protected] via mail. And attached the snapshot of device information and error page of message box. Next day they contacted me and solved the problem by giving necessary detail.
Thank You Airtel.
