Chennai/New Delhi, Oct 13:Bharti Airtel on Thursday launched its V-Fiber technology, offering super fast internet services.
V-Fiber is based on vectorisation and will deliver speeds up to 100 Mbps, from the current 4Mbps to 16Mbps, according to Ajai Puri, Director, Operations, Bharti Airtel.
Chennai first
V-Fiber will first be available in Chennai and will be rolled out across Airtel’s national broadband network, covering 90 cities in the coming weeks, he said.
“As part of this initiative, we are upgrading the plans free of cost. Customers just have to pay ₹1,000 as a one-time fee on the equipment (router), which is vector-enabled now, and the current plans will upgrade to the new one. For the first three months, there will be unlimited data download,” Puri told BusinessLine.
With ‘V-Fiber’ and its national optical fibre backbone, Airtel is all set to offer a future-ready network for tomorrow’s digitally connected homes, he said.
“This solution, besides reducing our carbon footprint, offers a very quick and convenient upgrade to the customer. We are also delighted to launch our innovative myHome Rewards and unlimited free voice calling facility for our customers,” Puri said. With ‘V-Fiber’, Airtel has brought fibre closer to homes by deploying additional capacity up to colonies and neighbourhoods and has also upgraded its local exchanges with equipment to handle fibre speeds, the company said.
High-speed tech
‘V-Fiber’ will transform the home broadband for Airtel customers with consistently superfast data speeds and enable HD video streaming, heavy file downloads and uploads in a multi-device environment (over Wi-Fi), it said.
More importantly, there is no new wiring or drilling required at an existing customer’s premises.
One simply needs to upgrade to a new modem to experience ‘V-Fiber’ speeds, Airtel said.
3-month trial
Existing Airtel broadband customers can upgrade to ‘V-Fiber’ speeds with their current plan and enjoy faster data speeds at no extra monthly cost.
If they are not happy with the service within one month, Airtel will refund the modem charges and the amount will be adjusted in the next bill cycle. New customers will get an ‘Unlimited’ three-month trial offer, the company added.

When Pakistan reminds us about toilets and technology nothing is more hysterical. They live in a pit, leave them there. After India successful Mars mission PAkistan’s media representation was hilarious. And look at that guy boasting 150mbps(I guess he doesn’t know the difference between ‘bit and ’byte’). We have 1Gbps here. But again, no need to talk to them ….leave them in the pit.

Badiyaa Hai ! Chaloo koii toh hogaa jio fibr kii monopoly koo roknee ke liyee & at the end consumer kaa faydaa
This will again be available to select cities and metros where already alot of local broadband are available with good pricing and better FUP.
So why choose this??
If it would have been Pan India then could have been a game changer in Telecom sector but unfortunately other cities and towns have only hope on Bsnl bb and Jio fiber to bring better services to remotest areas of our country.

These idiots dont even give 512 Kbps after using the fast speed. I can not believe they are so cheap. Actually they want to push us for Smartbyte.
