Dear AWS Customer,

We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of our new Asia Pacific (Mumbai) Region.

Starting today, you can run your applications and workloads in the new Asia Pacific (Mumbai) Region to reduce latency to end-users based in India while avoiding the up-front expenses, long-term commitments, and scaling challenges associated with maintaining and operating your own infrastructure. Mumbai joins joins Beijing, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo as the sixth AWS Region in Asia and as the thirteenth Region worldwide, bringing the total number of AWS Availability Zones to 35 worldwide.

AWS’ new Mumbai Region currently supports Amazon CloudWatch, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon ElastiCache, Amazon Elastic Block Store (EBS), Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Elastic MapReduce, Amazon Elasticsearch Service, Amazon Glacier, Amazon Kinesis Streams, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS), Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS), Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS), Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon Simple Workflow Service (SWF), Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), Auto Scaling, AWS Certificate Manager, AWS CloudFormation, AWS CloudTrail, AWS CodeDeploy, AWS Config, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, AWS Import/Export Snowball, AWS Key Management Service, AWS Marketplace, AWS OpsWorks, AWS Support, Elastic Load Balancing, VM Import/Export, Amazon CloudFront, Amazon Route 53, and Trusted Advisor. AWS Direct Connect is also available to provide a dedicated network connection from organization’s on-premises environment to the AWS Cloud. More details on each of these services and specific pricing for each is available at: http://aws.amazon.com/pro...s/. For a complete list of AWS Regions and services, visit the Global Infrastructure page.

We continue to expand our services globally, based in large part on customer input, so please continue to send us your feedback. In the meantime, we encourage you to take advantage of our newly announced AWS Mumbai Region.

Sincerely,

The AWS Team"

This reduce the latency for indian users, already Cloudflare (DNS and CDN edge server service provider) already opened in india (chennai and mumbai), so indians experience improved latency from international sites, but still indian ISP are far behind the interational ISP with their 512 kbps limit in 100 mbps fiber or high speed Adsl , it’s a big joke, but hope in future they give more speeds.

Offtopic:
Amazon cloud have free tier which is more useful for testing purpose and script testing, i use it for installing “Traccar” script there, so i can monitor other family members in realtime (with 5 second delay – speed, location, altitude), now i will transfer it to india, so reduced data and latency https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif
