i just got gift $100 from my relative .. any best way to utilize it ?shipping and custom is higher in clothing section..

Option 1:
If any of your friends in US wants to purchase something ask them to use your gift card and then pay you.
Option 2:
If you include customs duty most products cost as much as it costs here in India unless there is a great deal so if I recommend selling it off on ebay.com for around $85 or $90.
Option 3:
If you really want to make use of it in best possible way then search for someone who is travelling to India and ask them to get the shipment to India for you.
Option 4:
Direct shipment paying customs duty and shipping.

You can’t avoid it for Amazon purchases. Amazon US has prepaid charges for customs duty and shipping, in case it costs less than that eventually they will refund your money but for all my orders till date they never charged me more beyond what I paid at the time of order.
I paid customs duty for earphones costing $15 and watch costing $25 too!
Sell it to someone from US for Paypal. There will be people willing to pay around 75-80$ for this.

Maybe you read me wrong, I never told you can avoid S&H charges. Just suggested him to buy some light weight stuff so that he doesn’t have to pay too much shipping 
Moreover selling on ebay.com is a bad idea. Easy for scammers who exploit various loopholes.

it was something, that let one order select items at Amazon, if the seller was Amazon itself I think and get free shipping to India if the combined cart of such ordered items was above USD 124.99.
since the part is over and they are already fighting the regulations and competition locally, one can not get hopes high.
last I checked, Amazon SuperSaving Global shipping still worked for Sg.
if there are no compulsions like near expiry GC (i assume you meant 100$ worth Amazon GC) then you can let them be till you find anything worthy.

@Raghu perhaps what @Ranjith meant was to order something which by itself has a low cost (in absolute terms) and just still get something cheap and not raise the antlers of the pesky Department
I can highly recommend something like the Ultra Cree flash-lights. but be ware
that most of them might be knock offs.I could find some reliable sellers and could get in touch with them to get an acceptable deal, and the good part in it for me was that I could get sellers from HK and in another instance Thailand and I ordered it to an address in Sg.
@Sir Newton check the HS code of the item you intend to buy or if it is something precious, just see if there are any massive CVD or duty issues if importing from x, y or z country.

if not, then even buying second hand books from professional businesses (sellers with over 12000-15000 feedback) is a good idea.
no duties on import of even new books. by chance also if you get a Hari Putter at 1-2 dollars. simply buy such thing 
Harish potter second hand books in India in smaller town still cost 450-500 
look for sellers who ship from China, HK, Thailand, Korea, Taiwan or Asia. haggling with them on terms really helps.
