There is not even a single person in the whole country who doesn’t pay tax. Even beggers pay tax. Even those who earn just Rs 100 a day pay tax..
If you consider Income Tax as the only Tax, then I’m speechless….

So, I feel amazon should not be banned……Instead, sellers in Amazon should be indian sellers, currently i think cloudtail and appario retail are dominant sellers and amazon has a stake in them.

I am speechless that you actually wrote this post,I mean I could still understand if you had posted about your belief in India developing airplanes & organ transplant in vedic times because I have also seen ramayan & Mahabharata but this.. There goes the last chance of making India a $5 Trillion economy. laughing

Don’t worry, nobody is going to ban Amazon. The 1991 lesson taught by economy where India has to pledge its gold reserve won’t be forgotten so easily. smile

So you want that tradition to continue! Come on, man. You want your own economy to be sold out, which already is? Shame. At least in the fantasy world, there should be a lil desire to save the country. In my fantasy world, India is self sustained, its people don’t need to depend upon Amazon n Flipkart to get goods delivered.

What if there was a mystic plane? What if there was organ transplants going on in Vedic time? Would it change anything now? Well I am not versed with Vedas. So, I have the rights to be a bit agnostic, while talking about these things. Yes, I do. But making fun of something I have never cared to know/ read about, will make me look like pretty stupid. Right?
And if you don’t want to believe, Lemme tell you something modern. American Diabetes Association has prescribed new norms to treat diabetes. Less medicine n more diet based treatments. Search the Google for the same. Health industry works like that. Even if the researchers have found some ancient efficient methods to treat something untreatable etc, then corporate won’t allow it to publish it. Because it gonna hurt the economy of the medical business.
🙂
Edit: But India’s Diabetes specialists don’t follow the modern norms. Because it ll hurt Pfizer, Cipla, Abbot and other corporate houses. Those doctors goto US on paid leaves to attend ADA seminars, learn about new methods and still suck on poor patient’s blood.

But we need to depend on them for high discounts bro, getting free swiggy orders , free recharges, all thanks to amazon. No shopkeeper would do that for me , right confused
For the part of nationalism, we could loot these foreign companies and where the price difference is not much we could go to the local market but i would never want these companies to shut until and unless they are giving discounts
*heavy discounts

Shopkeepers should understand that its history, if its not Amazon, it will be something else. Its time they move on. Amazon Flip kart contribute more to our economy than these shopkeepers. Its like rickshaw pullers protesting to ban Autos because they cant compete with Autos. With e-commerce, consumers benefit. Without foreign investment, there will be no Indian economy to feed people and create opportunities. There would be nothing if not for foreign investments. So jo thali me khate ho, usme chedh mat maro.

I’m not referring to income tax here. Every single item that we purchase goes through taxation, that too on multiple levels. Even the food you eat, water you drink is taxed. Income tax is an additional burden on citizens of any country. Imagine I earn 5lac a year and pay due income tax. After that whether I buy food or phone, they make me pay GST and all sorts of taxes. Why?
Either we should be taxed on every single item or on the whole money we make. If I am left with 4 lac after paying tax, why should I pay GST or any other tax? My whole money is already taxed. Getting it?

Bhai. I am talking like a stupid moron, I get it. If Amazon, Flipkart won’t do it, then some Ambani n Biyani gonna do the same. God, I love discounts too. 😭 Sometimes, this stupid nationalist inside me gets awake, trying hard to do justice my people seek. Sometimes I believe, I ll spend some extra bucks at local store, but in the end I end up getting cheated. It’s a love n hate relationship of mine. And surprisingly I am just okay with it. And honestly I m not intelligent enough to come with a solution. And if some intelligent person will come up with some crazy revolutionary solutions, I am damn sure they gonna bow down in front of corporate pressure, labour union pressure, political pressure. It’s a deadlock situation. In the end I again go back to Flipkart n Amazon.
Honestly I buy all my electronics online. I have been using SWIGGY, Zomato deals. I enjoyed em. I buy grocery from local market. That’s the only redeeming act done by me. Shame

Yeah , understood bro, but lets take a scenario of a rural area, a farmer keeps a cow , milks it and sells it to a local tea shop, pedestrians buy the chai and pay for it
No tax involved anywhere, just trying to clear out that not everything is taxed at present, there are big loopholes in the system and smart people do use them, unfortunately thats called black money technically sunglasses

Now that manufacturing has taken a hit big time, I guess the only way to reach $5T would be to reduce the income tax slabs and increase the tax percentage at the same time, what do you say?
After all, becoming $5T economy is important…

Why should salaried individuals be selectively paying income tax while the rest of the unsalaried individuals who earn more than the threshold dont disclose the threshold and dont pay the tax?

You cannot do that. It will impact government spending and decrease the GDP. You can do that only after increasing the tax base by bringing everyone to disclose their ncomes and paying income tax.

That’s what I’m saying, Income Tax should be done away with. Everyone is anyway paying tax on everything…

Perhaps you remember a nation by the name USSR,yeah the same one,the only nation to match USA in military might in modern history(China may be able to do but that’s in future). The same nation whose economic principles & state industries were copied by the then successive Indian govt. The same nation whose state controlled factories made everything from cigarettes to fighter planes because allowing pvt sector/big bad foreign companies fdi was a big taboo.

Thank the gods that India got its lesson in 1991 itself else you probably would be looking at a 6-7k smartphone in some display window sighing how great it would be if you could buy such an amazing thing. smile

Amazon and Flipkart are getting rid of that corrupt non tax paying middleman and provide employment to many at same time.

But that will again impact government spending, GST will have to be increased to 40% maybe to cover the shortfall. The higher the people earn he more they can contribute to governments spending. The lower income groups cant afford to part that much indirect taxation.
