Ordered a dress with Guaranteed next day delivery!
Did not get it by today.
Amazon agent updated false status: person not available (they didnt try delivering) and even no call.
→ Contacted Amazon CC chat.
They said We are sorry but this is an exception
will arrange for delivery tomorrow surely.
Is there no money refund for Prime orders with Guaranteed delivery?
Actually I searched terms and conditions but they only say the Rs 100 paid for 1-day delivery will be refunded automatically if delivery fails.
but here, as a Prime user, I paid nothing. So no refund?
What is Guarantee then?
Amazon Courier Delivery Guy’s are very lazy, if they have to run home early or take leave they simply update the status as attempted or address incorrect or not present. It happened with me many times.
@19 Female Gurgaon looks lik u got beaten from ur parents for not getting product at exact delivery time

That’s very funny, i can’t stop laughing.
@19 Female Gurgaon They have launched Amazon Prime under trial for first 2 months most probably to check the kind of hurdles they might face & issues that might occur. Let’s not complain at the beginning itself & lose Prime services. Just check how many people are happy with Amazon introducing Prime services in India & that too free 2 months trial. (Indians love most of the things associated with free). So let’s wait for some time before taking a call on their service quality. OK.

I got the excuse because of weather condtions my shipment was delyayed.
Thanks guys.
I hushed up when CC representative told me that it is a one time exception!
Because I am enjoying the service as such.
But in Flipkart First, I got compensation to my wallet for non delivery on specified dates automatically.
Btw, my parents are on a holiday. So basically jungle raj in here. No beating for now.

This is not only with amazon, its happening with all couriers. Even if you send some private parcel through couriers like bluedart, same thing happens due to the poor performance of the delivery guys. Happened with me several times.
Though amazon is the worst one. Speaking about Kolkata. Flipkart delivery guys are somewhat better performers.
Guwahati flipkart and amazon both are at par.

Yes all are same, But i hate eKart the most as if we have COD order and if the product price is Rs.2950/- or Rs.2990/- they directly take the money walk off without giving the rest chillar left. They are forcefully taking tips and on top they give advice saying if anything wrong happens with product call customer care as if they are some champs of Flipkart and we are not aware about it.

@19 Female Gurgaon In the US, non-fulfillment of the delivery guarantee for Prime customers gets them a free month of Prime (which costs about $11 = Rs.750 monthly). In India, they are charging only Rs.499 annually so it’s not worth the hassle. My suggestion: Let them go free with just an apology in such early days of launching the Prime service.
@ranjithsai01 Yes, both FedEx and UPS (the two courier giants in the US) leave the package at the doorstep if nobody is at home. But I surely hope no courier service starts this practice in India.
Anyway, what the OP experienced was not a real failed delivery but a common trick used by the delivery staff in India to avoid being penalized for non-delivery as per the guarantees/estimates.

Rightly said even if they don’t deliver I am fine with it, but never would want them to leave it in front door
But once they have the prime system in place here, they would have to follow the one month extension I believe. The prime service there is entirely different and provides a host of benefits. So they can equate that here and offer the same service extension for failed deliveries, else what is the penalty for failure? After all we have paid for a “guaranteed” service they have offered and calls for penalty.
At least fedex should try once to see the reaction if Package leave outside of the house if no one at home
Maybe this will created faith in all indian

Forget about leaving packages at doorstep bro… Let them deliver the packages in India intact without replacing the mobiles or other costly products with stone or soap.

If we have neighbors like you, by the time we reach back home… there won’t be any trace of the package.

@gambitrite Thanks for tag Naughtyindian. Baby ka dress nahin aaya par sabhi ko parcel ki tension hai. 😂
@19 Female Gurgaon
Don’t expect them to give compensations yet because they would have just go into this game and still are not sure as to what needs to be done. But anyway once the system is in place for such failed deliveries you might get 1 month extension of your prime (at least that is what I have experienced on amazon.com). It might not be automated and still need to contact the cc with the possibility of having to talk to a supervisor. Once you have paid for their service you would have the moral and legal claims for them not honoring the service agreement.
Also in US even if you are not available for accepting the delivery they would still leave the package at your front door or a slip asking you to collect it from their office (I guess mostly non-ats delivery personnel do it if a signature is expected). But here in India for the fear of penalty, the delivery person can just mark it as customer not available and amazon can’t be held responsible for non delivery. Not sure how amazon would handle this scenario.
