Amazon - Refunds not reflecting in bank accounts.

Hi Dimers,

I used to blindly trust the tech of Amazon but sadly it is not so good. I realized this recently when I made a purchase from my friends Credit Card. On replacing the item and then returning the replacement the refund doesn’t go through and I was not sure about this until my friend told me that he didn’t get the refund I was expecting. On asking support team, the refund will reflect in a day but this is after 2 weeks of return.

So everyone please just don’t rely on amazon’s orders page for refund status, please check your bank statement.

BTW have found 2 other refunds which were not done by Amazon and I had to ask them to recheck and refund again.

So please don’t have blind faith and check bank statements/sms from bank and not Amazon.

My bank was SBI in most of the cases.

Sometimes amazon will refund within hours after pickup completed , sometimes after receiving your return to seller. Previously i am getting refund issued mail within hours after pickup. On 7th i returned 2 orders , for 1 order yesterday i received refund. For another order yet to receive. Seller cloud tail , used amazon pay balance.

Contact your bank, mostly refunds gets back to holding account of bank then to customer, but sometimes it stuck in the holding account. Jst contact your branch they will process it

Yes, SBI is painful. SBI CC have eaten my head for me to explain them, the case of multiple partial refunds. The lady was dumb enough to not understand simple maths (wonder how she got in) and how one order got divided into multiple orders.

Bro total process will be run on algorithmic basis. If you manage to go for refund, amazon algorithm automatically intialises the refund but some times depends up on seller’s decision. If it is taking time to get your refund, then there is problem with banking system but we should not miss complaining with both customer cares. As you said in the post, we should not believe the refund process entirely on amazon process, we should keep on tracking the refund status.

Is Your Seller Amazon Fulfilled ? If Not Then Did The Seller Processed Refund From Their Or Not ? (Received Any Mail For Refund Process Or Refund Reference No)
Also Sometimes Returning Items Do Not Match The Product Which Was Sent To You, Even Then Refund Is Not Initiated. So Check That Too. ( Dont Trust Any CC Blindly)
Nowhere In Your Post You Mentioned About Refund Email Or Any Mail Stating Refund Processed Is Received By You (Not Order Page Status)

And Some More Things That Need To Keep In Mind Incase Is Refund Is Done.

What I am saying is there are occurrences wherein refund SMS are sent but not the refund. Sometimes I don’t get email but refunds are done.

PS: I order like 30 to 35 orders per quarter per account of which nearly 50% to 60% are returned (not purposely it’s clothing section).
