I am using BSNL prepaid currently, and would like to port my number to any of the private operators as I would be traveling out of the country and would like to make the international roaming thingy easy. BSNL currently want me to visit their office and I just don’t want that as their employees are friggin rude and it is very difficult to get things done from their employees. I won’t mind going to private operators’ office if required to enable international roaming, after porting out of BSNL, if required…
Would like to know if any operators have good port in offers. Aircel, Idea not preferred.

AFAIK Only Airtel Prepaid has pre-activated international roaming. For most of the other operators activating International Roaming may be a hassle. I may be wrong though. Most operators offer a little talktime in the range 50-100 , reduced call rates for a month or two and some data. So, it wont be worth porting to another operator only for the offers since they wont be valid on International roaming and roaming in their office for activation. So I’d suggest Airtel.
Thanks for the insight. My primary objective is obviously not offers, but enabling international roaming on an affordable plan
The Airtel store guy said it’d be fine if I keep the existing sim card in India and ask someone to make a call once it a month so as to prevent it from getting deactivated. He also said roaming charges are very high regardless the network and literally discouraged me from porting the number just for enabling international roaming Sounds sane
jio giving unlimited offer for porting customer
