Bad Experience with Yatra

I booked two train tickets on Yatra app using OlaMoney and in both cases, the booking failed but the money got debited from OlaMoney. There was no entry in the booking history of Yatra app, although debit entries were there on OlaMoney. When I tried to reach out OlaMoney, OlaMoney told me to contact Yatra. To my surprise, they said you need to write an email to the Train Booking support team to resolve the issue. After 2 days of my mail, I got a reply from Yatra stating that the information given by me was incomplete and that I needed to provide more information. After continuous emails to Yatra, a refund for the first booking was initiated in whopping 8 days, while I am still fighting by sending emails to them for my 2nd booking for which they haven’t even acknowledged that the booking was actually done!

Lesson Learnt: Never use eWallets or such services like Yatra when you want to have a tension free vacation trip (Holi, in this case)

This is one of the reasons why i never book train tickets from any third party website these days. Although there isn’t much to rave about IRCTC app/website but they are certainly better when it comes to refunds. Most failed transactions on IRCTC gets reversed back automatically in 3-4 days.
