Best scooter to go for?

Hello guys,
I’m looking to buy a scooter in Delhi and have only known TVS jupiter & Honda Activa. But I see a lot of new scooter models have come up over the last couple of years.

Could someone please suggest the best scooter to go for?

I’m not looking at going over budget, so the swanky ones retailing for 80k and above can be ruled out. Do let me know however if you feel a premium scooter in this higher price range is actually good(may look for a used one instead).

Thanks in advance.

If your requirement is not to go outside city limits, buy a electric one and live tension free of any maintenance or petrol price.
From a proud owner of electric scooter since 1 and half year.

I have not suggested mine because it is outside his budget. I have okinawa ipraise. Total spent 1.2 Lakhs (now 1.10L) with everything included. Not spent anything till now on any maintenance. One charge 140-150 km. 15₹ electricity charge per charge.
But now more good Scooters are coming. A low cost okinawa praise pro and ridge plus are also very good.
Bajaj came with its own with full metal body, tvs is also launching its very soon and many other are available now.

Go for Suzuki’s access 125 it is very underrated scooter. It has the best engine and the seats are also comfortable. Mileage is also good. I got it for 74-76k all the expenses included with accessories

Your requirements should be like
1) telescopic front forks, rules out Activa 110 cc
2) metal body rules out a lot of scooters
3) bs vi compliance
4) combi brake
5) front disc brake if possible
Because of geometry of scooters is such that long wheelbase with short wheels design doesn’t really support miniaturised Earl’s forks, ex Honda Activa. Front brakes are the most powerful one. You apply on Honda Activa , not 125, you won’t feel bite of brakes, the front of the scooter will get lifted up a bit, mass keeps on getting swinging back n forth. It’s really annoying. That’s why Activa started giving combi brakes in Activa, besides safety reasons. In telescopic fork equipped scooters you can employ disc brakes, light squeeze and a rapid stop, quick squeeze and skidding is possible. But it’s far more safer. And if you apply brakes, relative mass of the rider + scooter doesn’t shift back n forth between front and rear.
2) Metal body is for insurance purposes and long lasting experience
3) pollution purposes and future proof
4) safety issue. Both front n rear brakes engaged simultaneously gives you better stopping power front engaging front alone, true in scooters, cruisers, normal motorcycles. In sports bikes, front brakes alone are sufficient at high speed, at low to mid both brakes are required
5) explained in 1)

17k, Bangalore traffic doesn’t allow a fun and long ride. Battery usage and degradation is user based. It is a lithium ion battery so just like mobile will vary from person to person and according to usage. Ideal should be 5-6 years. Battery is the main costly component of a ev. So 50-60% of vehicle cost will be battery change cost. But some local manufacturers quoted much lesser price for a assembled one than the original battery. Will see after I fully utilized mine as in coming years prices for battery of ev expected to come down further.

No difference in performance than petrol one Even on standing ride on flyovers and other. Only thing is speed limited to 75km max but enough for me in city ride.
