Best way to build simple attractive website for a small business

If it only involves advertising their services/products, giving out their contacts and such related info which are static then you are better off outsourcing it. It would be at max a couple of pages and you can contact some hosting agency for it. I have heard people paying not more than 2k/year for this.

Well I am planning to design them myself. First of all, less cost & moreover, I’ll atleast learn something new

From scratch? No one does that today. Especially when you want to build a simple website for a small business.

What you need to do is buy templates – Wordpress or HTML templates that are pre-designed. Upload them on your server and edit the heck out of them. All this takes less than 2-3 hours assuming the content is ready.

If not, you probably need a week worth’s of time to get the site up and running. All this shouldn’t cost – including hosting – more than Rs. 5000.

But isn’t editing the template require advanced coding/php knowledge? Any suggestion on that?

Also any idea where I can buy good templates for small businesses online in India?

Answer: You wanted to learn, right? Plus, it is not so difficult. All it takes is time. If you have that – you are going to get it done anyway.

Guessing from your scenario I wud say jus use wix.com.. I used the same to build a website for my friend. Its pretty slick, FREE, loads of templates. Jus have a look once. Premium plans can be availed only if wish to have more bandwidth, storage power etc.,

Well abt the learning part I wud say it takes time.. even I have basic knowledge of HTML/Javascript/PHP which I use to edit out my Tumblr
