Hello dimers,
Guys, i would suggest you all to check your Credit/debit card statements very carefully. I have been billed twice for multiple transactions by PayU amounting to a lot of rupees. I got my Citibank statement today and i was surprised by the high bill. When i went through my statement, found that there has been multiple duplicate entries by PayU. I knew there was something fishy since i never received any Email alert/SMS alert regarding the said duplicate transactions.
I Spoke to a Citibank rep who was as confused as me and as per the Citibank rep, his system shows only single transactions however PayU has claimed for the same transactions twice from Citibank billing department and this explains why i never got any sms for the duplicate transactions.
Citibank has raised dispute on the transactions and offered me temporary credit till the investigation is complete. I was wondering after this episode how safe are payment gateways such as payU and i’m also shocked by the lackluster approach of Citibank who billed me for the transaction that was never even registered in their system.

Personally, PayU is my favourite too. Its so reliable.
Long ago, I made a payment at ebay, used Mobi, and thought that I will get an additional 10% cashback, but the payment failed even when I had sufficient balance in my account. On contacting Mobi, they said that eBay will initiate a refund (no buyer protection on failed transactions, and deducted payments). Had to ask ebay to make a refund (that took some more time to get the refund).
Bought the same product again through PayU (even though it was a 1% cashback), but making the transaction successful was more important rather than looking at a Rs. 10 difference, and the payment was, as usual, successful.
