U can try Google’s owned blogspot. It is the best platform for newbies. It is a playground for HTML users. U can learn and write ur own codes. If u r skeptical how dimers can enlarge, bold, quote, decorate their post …etc then blogger is the choice not just inn DD but other forums that supports HTML. Also it has many options, features and u can can add ur own custom domain instead one provided by Google. U can add some great themes and make it look more professional. U can also migrate ur blog to WP.
Later u can monetise with Adsense, affiliates and other advertising agencies like chitika.

It does have cons like ur blog will be removed if u violates their T&C. And they are strict over DMCA complaints.

Thanks. Blogger and WordPress. I have 3 blogs to publish or is it better to buy own hosting then publish any sub domains, or domains. I know of hostgator but they r on expensive side. Any reliable, little expensive unlimited hosting provider?

If u r seriously onto blogging then I must suggest u to go after WP and create ur own blog with a domain name and a hosting. Most preferably Bluehost. U might get amazing discount for a 3 yrs plans if u subscribe it on a cyber Sunday/ black Friday sale( ahhh.. Those days ). If u wish to get it now, get it through referrals. Discounts varies from plan to plans.

Other than that. @DealSeeker might have some additional thoughts.
