Broadband users, TRAI has a good news for you

Well, post-FUP speeds for all the wired broadband services in Bangalore that I am aware of have already been 512 Kbps for a few years now. But this is perhaps a good development for the Tier-2 and below cities.

In today’s age of heavy websites and live streaming, 1 Mbps should be the minimum IMO.

Are the min. download speed mentioned in OP and the post-FUP speed mentioned in your post one and the same?

bsnl ’s minimum is 1Mbps… IMO trai should have made in 2Mbps….

512Kbps… and that too in 2016 .. lol

Trai’s directive has dealt a blow to fixed broadband operators such as Bharti Airtel, Reliance Communications, Sistema Shyam Teleservices among others who had earlier this year urged the regulator to allow throttling of speeds down to 64 kbps once a customer uses up the assigned quota to prevent misuse of fixed broadband services beyond the designated quota.

As usual, those money grabbers wanted to take us back to the dark ages. I wish all of them would just shut down
Glad TRAI scuttled their plan, but I’m sure they’ll keep trying
