guys, recently telecom operators are stopping the facility of activating plans or packs by using main balance.

today i noticed the BSNL USSD code *444# is not working. previously i activated data packs by dialing *444# but, it is not working now. i have 500+ main balance in my BSNL sim. now, what can i do with that main balance? 😭

update:- problem solved. now we can activate packs by dialing *124# (after dialing select STV option)

oh, that means bsnl is not allowing us to activate some plans. but previously i activated 56 data plan by dialing *444*56# and it worked without any error.

*444*amount# and 444# both ussd codes are same. but some plans are able to activate and some plans are unable to activate in current situation. previously i activated 56 data plan by dialing *44456# and it worked without any error.

Nope, it was stv.
But days back on mom’s phone auto deducted the running PV from main balance.
Obviously the circle wasn’t TelangAndhra, but most people (retailers, call centre people,: more than 10 rechecks by me) confirmed that PV gets audo debited from main balance (circle: MPCG) and one can even use USSD, sms.. till plan is still available.. for it to get renewed.
Only thing not possible by selfcare, is changing from one PV to another PV

I did recharge of plan from main balance using this method 10days back , i recharged 1699 plan for 1525

i tried data plan of 56rs and it was activated successfully. *444# shows many validity plans but most of the plans are not working. when we try to activate validity plans such as 36rs, it will simply show error msg “Operation failed. Please contact customer care”

also when this auto deduction happened? on 1st day of grace period 1?

.
For mother’s spare SIM i didnt do anything.. except deleting the BSNL warning messages.
.
It got renewed.
For most cases, if main balance is available, after end of the Day (EOD) of validity end/midnight, the new PV auto activated by system.. anytime betweem 00:00 and 0300 or max 5 am.
.
But like i mentioned somewhere.
Better call at late night or at 7am when shifts change and reconfirm with CC
.
For your specific case.. i’m certain that if you get the 118 or something PV of 180 days. It will redo it in future ..to keep the dormant SIM’s outgoing active.
.
You may or may not be checking chats.
I’m on crocin and self experimentation.. so may not check DD
