I changed my combo 500 plan to 611 plan on Sept 5th, which gives me 40 GB at 4 Mbps and 1 mbps thereafter with 25 free calls thrown in.
This is in Hyd, BTW.
Get the 2 year plan by paying advance rental. BSNL may change this plan anytime and downgrade monthly plans to general plans. But once you lock in with a particular plan their system won’t allow them to change it for 2 years.
We all should thank Jio for disruptive pricing.
Even if Jio turns out to be a bubble that bursts soon, we will get something better from AVoId and BhaiS ki NaaL (BSNL) !
a good entry level plan from BSNL.
Good for students.
Who will pay for the router ? They should have added scheme for free router if you signup for a year plan.

What about free calls, suppose i prepay 2 year charges, they will continue to allow free calls for 9PM to 7 AM and on sundays even if their plan change ????

No if they change the landline terms and conditions it will be applicable to you also. Only the broadband plan is locked for 2 years

No, only rental is locked. If they modify data or speed it would apply.
installation + monthly landline charge applicable or not?

These plans exist only in Hyderabad to compete with ACT similar to Airtel plans for Hyderabad.

Even if they discontinue a plan existing users can continue to use same plan as long as they don’t migrate to a different plan. Once you migrate you can’t get back to the old plan again. This applies to regular plans however I’m not sure about special plans or circle-specific plans.

No that won’t happen because these are limited time offers available in certain cities. So the plan 611 won’t be available for anyone else. Once you pay for it, the plan just locks for that period even though it won’t be available for anyone else to subscribe. Maybe only if they change the after FUP speed from 1mbps to 2 mbps (jk) it would apply but the basic FUP doesn’t change
Couple of years back in Bangalore they had some festival offer of 10gb FUP (4mbps) for 549 (then it was with a 20% discount for govt employees with more discount for 3 years payment) and till now it has not changed because they won’t touch the FUP limit of such plans.
@adangar07 wrote:

They usually adjust all the one time charges in the first month bill. Just make sure it’s applicable in this offer as well.

Maybe true but one of my friend who had a special (who had done 1 year AMC with me and I had done 3 year amc)) got his plan migrated to a general plan stating that the plan no more exists. Even the BSNL employee had confirmed the same when we got the new limited time offer plan that you can have this plan forever.

BSNL does have 3 offers for modem.
1. Free modem if you subscribe to annual plan with rental above 1000.
2. Modem at Rs.500 if you subscribe to annual plan with rental between 600-1000.
3. 100% cashback for 15 months (100/month) if your plan rental is above Rs.700.
Check with your Local Exchange or rather check your circle’s BSNL website. But there are no offers for rental less than Rs.600

Why don’t you move to 1091 60GB 8Mbps plan? Did you check whether this plan is applicable for your area?

Yes. That’s what I said. It may not apply for special plans or circle-specific plans. For regular plans they don’t force you.

TRAI is set to upgrade the minimum broadband speed to 2Mbps. So BSNL will bump the post-FUP to 2Mbps later on.
