BSNL doesnt provide promised 2 mbps speed even on broadband. This gimmick is not going to work unless they improve on speed.

Here they provide 7 Mbps constant on BSNL 3G https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

Why don’t you change your settings to force 3g and try, dial (star#star#4636#star#star) and click on phone information and then select wcdma only.

Note – star symbol not displaying in my post eventhough i entered while posting,so replaced it with star word, one can enter star symbol only.

Pathetic network!
Network signal indoors is very poor. Also the speed never crosses 45-50kBps!!
Very low speed !!

they are launching plans like 333 , 444, chauke pe chauka , nehle pe dehla etc. etc. and are not giving proper speeds .
now 5gb/day also launched , speed going to degrade soon .
earlier last year in dec i used to get 1mbps speed in idm , now it always fluctuates between 300-600 kbps .

Same here
when i got 444 plan, i was getting 10mbps
Now i hardly get 3mbps max (day time) for the past week or two

I’m ok with 2GB along with call benefits & 3GB per day plans (like 333 plan). But I’m not finding it now.

Last month they used to show up here http://www.bsnl.co.in/opencms/bsnl/BSNL/service...

@getready @hese Are those plans completely withdrawn https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_eek.gif https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_eek.gif

Other users from AP/TS pls confirn

I don’t see any combo plans via (*444#)
Looks like there are no active plans right now

And regarding network speeds in non metros, both Jio n BSNL are useless in my home (AP) i don’t even get 500kbps (day time).
In metros and while driving via NHs i find Jio to be highly reliable than any other operator https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

BSNL used to be good for home usage (Bangalore) but not anymore speed fluctuates every minute, might be ok for downloads not good for browsing

@DealSeeker You get good speeds in/around metro cities/towns.JIO has degraded so much in last 1 month in non-metro areas, the worst I have ever seen in my life…even docomo 2G works good.So many people are waiting to for the expiry of their SSO.I’m 100% sure that there will be mass MNP to other networks.

Since ambani lives in mumbai, you get good speeds otherwise you’re doomed https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_lol.gif

I did actually travel to rural/remote areas via road as well (~2-3 hours from Mumbai). And the speeds were actually better there. Downloaded a Suits episode while being driven through a highway ( https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif ). Got upto 2.5 MBps.

@dealgraber Yes, the avg, min, and max speeds I mentioned were/are for Bangalore. But I know some areas in Bangalore have real crappy speeds as well (< 2 Mbps).

I wish these telecom operators do something about Postpaid customers too, they are locked down with terrible plans. I travel a bit too often and BSNL provides the best service coverage overall, not quality though. I recently travelled to J&K and sadly only postpaid connections of any network work there, when I drove down to BSNL office to get my sim converted to postpaid I noticed that their Postpaid plans are terrible when compared to Prepaid.

You’re richie rich if you use postpaid..that’s what operators think https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif
