Buying a used internal hard disk for laptop
Hi dime-conscious deal diggers!
I’m planning to buy a used internal hard disk for an old HP laptop which is otherwise working fine. Capacity doesn’t matter much. Have an external hard disk for bulk file storage. It’s just for everyday use. My budget limit is 1000 bucks. Have been searching on OLX, Quikr, eBay for a while now. Couldn’t grab a deal yet. Please share your valuable suggestions. Thanks in advance.
Tagging some awesome shopping friends for help.

Best option is to buy from pc part dealers…. bcoz quikr and olx cant be trusted for used pc/laptop parts…
And u might also be able to get like 15 days to 30 days warranty on that hdd if the dealer is reputed…
Well, I bought an 80gb used HDD (WD) at 500 from eBay. (Thanks to @myliferockkss for sharing a 300 off code.)
My friend is installing the OS (I’ve requested for Win7 Home) for me now. He just said the machine has 4gb RAM. @DealSeeker
Thanks for your amazing support, guys. Dimers always rock! @dealzeal @abcwevr762 @bk08 @FeelMyL0Ve
I just took the easy way out.

I was hoping you would have that puppy
On a serious note you should try some Linux based OS only the installation part is difficult for some rest it is good for regular work, may be you will explore something as well or create your own kitten perhaps

Installing Linux distros is no longer as complex as it used to be. For example you can install Puppy Linux as an application within Windows. Its as easy/difficult as installing any other Windows application. Mainstream Linux distros like Ubuntu,Fedora etc have similar functionality as well.

Really apart from Fedora I had to pull my hair apart for installing other Linux distros, too many tweaks in the BIOS to get it done. And in all those cases I could not install GRUB, the best or worst was the one with Sabayon Linux where I would manually enter some path to get it running.
PS Only installing Fedora is easy, after that it becomes hectic as you may not find solution to your specific problem

The biggest problem I had faced when I had started my journey into the dark side was with regards to the swap partition. I did not know then that it could be bypassed. You will have to look for the installer instead of the traditional iso file.

I added the hp backpack to cart when the price was Rs.525 with both Cloudtail and DealKyaHaiSLP yesterday expecting it to go down in competition. But Cloudtail has increased it to Rs. 1099 (MRP) and the other seller Rs. 599 today. Fuk yu, Amazon!

Can someone suggest a VFM laptop backpack? I spent only 500 bucks even for the HDD. Hope to find a good bag at half its price. JK! Budget is 350-400.

Buy this at 500 if HP is not mandatory criterion. Price keeps fluctuating every week. https://www.amazon.in/dp/B011...8C

hp is not mandatory but I don’t want it to be of other laptop brands. Any generic brand will do.

As your queries are!
I have one 100GB (badass Hitachi) pulled out from my 10 year old laptop but it comes handy for USB-windows installations and transferring large files. So no sale sorry.
