Buying Electric Scooter is Smart or Foolish decision ?

India have very few low speed electric scooters which are struggle in slope as well as sales, but now Ather is going to release 3kw motor fitted “Ather S340” and transcent with 1.5kw electric motor fitted one, as 1kw and above motor fitted vehicles are fast (hero electric launched 250w (0.25 kw) motor which will move like a snail)
but my question is, running cost is very less (1 rs per 6km) but we have to change batteries once 3 year, so buying electric scooter is Smart or Foolinsh decision ??
Ather S340 – expected 80,000 rs
Transcent – 40,000 rs

as battery technology and solar technology is still under development and high efficiency products are expected to launch within this year,
Solar panels : less space same power, so we can easily fit/integrate in scooter or cars body
storedot : high speed charging for whole vehicle in 15 minutes.
but these technology product wont come with low price

The problem with electric vehicles is the range. India doesn’t have electric charging stations but that is changing slowly. A hybrid makes more sense for India but no one has shown any interest in developing a hybrid two-wheeler yet. If you plan to use it within city limits and live in Bangalore or a city where you have charging stations then it’s a smart decision.
As per ARAI, electric two wheelers upto 250w does not need registration or driving licence. So maximum e-scooters are in this category. A major hidden cost in e-scooter is the battery replacement cost. Before you make a decision to buy one. check the cost of replacement. One set of battery would not last more than 16-20 months.
E-scooters are good for short distances. Particularly for moving inside a campus environment.
Ather announced the launch, expected in first quarter of next year and first available in chennai and Bangalore.

yeah i have seen in a china shipyard where all of them add electric scooters and the company provided charging sockets for each scooter in its parking area only
