Thumb rules
Do understand there is making charges for coin as well
Do not compare rates of extremities like u compare buying rate of flipkart vs selling rate of tanishq etc…
Paytm mmtc live Gold rate is a good indicator
Better to invest in 24k than 22k that too (999 is better than 995)
If gold is seriously for investment purpose for long term prefer Soverign Gold Bonds for tax benefits

@tnv Pls spare a few tips

If you are buying gold for reselling/Investing always go for 24k

under 24k.. there will be 995 and 999

Here preferebaly go for 999 as reselling is easy…

if 995 comes cheaper by 100 or more, you can buy either of the, as technically there is no difference.(Generally 995 will be [email protected] rupees lesser per gram)

dont buy 22k, Until unless you need these coins for aurnment making.

coming to brands : You can Buy Bangalore Refinery which is cheapest under 999 segment
You can also consider RSBL, PCJ.

Bluesotne, Malabar, these companies make 995 purity coins. Buy these only when these are cheaper by more than 100 when compared with 999 purity ones.

If you looking for gifting purpose.. Go for Bluestone these do come in good packing.

PS: I never tried selling in any branded stores, I always sell it to my Uncle.. Recently FK started delivering to my Native so ordering to My uncle address directly… smile

I have a friend who tried selling his Bangalore Refinery gold bar and he had no trouble at all, he sold it to a jewellery store.

You can check my unboxing video if you want to see what 1 Gram gets you https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif

Sure, buy as much as your budget allows you to and flip whenever you feel like it. I am sorry I don’t have much information about how much time it takes to deliver to Bangalore…maybe 2-3 days including processing (Not sure) Since I am in Delhi it took me 4-5 days max.

Iif the purpose is investment only, buy Gold ETF or Sovereign Gold Bond. Can be easily stored in your demat account and quickly sold off at times of need.

Bro, how do you know that a gold coin is hallmarked or not ??? How do we check that?

The biggest issue with me is selling it. All those jewelers offer price with some fixed amount less than market price.
And the usual jewellers hesitate to give you money than ornaments,
But if you are planning to buy ornaments, they will give you very good offer.

Personal experience….Hallmarking on Bullions especially 995,999,999 that is 24 karat is not mandatory.

Check this from BIS website http://www.bis.org.in/cert/FAQs...df

Once I got a 1Gram Gold bar checked for purity purposes and asked if hallmark gave an effect and he denied. Do you know hallmarking can be done for only 50rs at any place.

Read some where that hallmarking is done at very minimal price but as stated above, selling these coins in local market is a big task…
