I have never had the need to replace a mobile motherboard so no idea about it. But aliexpress is mostly hit or miss sorts. Even the motherboard might be DoA (I have 1 in 3 SOCs (those RPi sorts) DoA) or the mobile defect might be something else. I am sure you wouldn’t want to let 27k go down the drain in 2.5 years but putting good money after bad is not such a good idea if you can’t be sure about it.

But with a $10 coupon it would cost around $30 so maybe you can take a 2k hit if you think it is worth it. Most likely there would be no import duty (I have never paid a single rupee in all my 30+ purchases) but it will be a frustrating wait sometimes. Also check with a local mobile store first if they have a replacement part or if they would be willing to replace if you got one. Maybe a second check in another authorized service center to make sure it is definitely a mother board problem helps?

@speedydeals Never had to replace a phone motherboard so no idea. Importing might not be worth the trouble, especially because you might discover that something else also needs to be replaced to make the phone functional again. So it’d be better to find a local service center which might have a spare motherboard from a used/exchanged phone. I did have to get my iphone screen replaced once and I found a reasonable price after visiting 5-6 places.

My concern is also same that after replacing motherboard it may be not functional but service center guy told me that motherboard need to be replaced.

I cannot ask local shopkeeper as this phone is not common and it will be very hard to get it locally.

Have you Shown your device anywhere else other than service centers?? Please be 100% sure before buying motherboard.
I am saying this because once Micromax service center asked my friend to replace his motherboard. But he just took a chance and showed his mobile to 2-3 local repair shops.. one of them somehow fixed his mobile using some kind of “jugaad”
Recently I hard-bricked my HTC.. The service center guy tried to flash firmwares for few minutes and then blatantly said “motherboard needs to be replaced” .. I was annoyed at his laziness/dumbness.. ( later I fixed it myself using few tutorials from XDA )
After these two instances… I have completely lost my Trust on these authorized service centres…

The service center motto is to make money and why would they let go of it? We Indians lack professional ethics and try to fleece customers at every opportunity. But for sure I trust these local repair guys a lot and they are far more tech than these authorized service center guys. Their way of fixing computer motherboards maybe can’t be done by the company themselves (maybe I hyped it too much but have got an out of warranty Intel MB fixed for like 500). https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

Both listings have zero orders
Risky but again return/refund option is there if it doesn’t work

As everyone suggested it’s better to get it repaired via local service centre guys as not all devices are easy to fix.
