Can I connect two data cards same time to get double speed

i tried that with 3g modems… it wont work!!

anyways if u hav 2 cable modems with 2 separate 512kbps wired connections and 2 network cards in ur pc, u can combine the 2 connections to get an effective speed of 1mbps
however max speed in this case will be only 512kbps for a single file download and to get the max download speed of 1mbps, u need to download torrents where a single file can be downloaded as multiple streams

No that will not work. The way a computer connects to the internet is by using only one connection. If it has two connections it will only use one until it is not connected. It is like having a laptop that is both plugged into the router and having wireless connection to that router. It will only use one connection chosen by you. It cannot draw from both and double the speed.There would be a conflict between them both.

your computer will only be able to recognize one ip address,regardless of number of connections.

as every internet connection comes with its own ip, just as no two ips can be clubbed no two internet connections can be clubbed.

at any given time only one connection will work,but you can still switch your connection back and fourth,connection 1 will work,finish what its doing then connection 2 can work,but not together.

for broadband wired connections I have a hawking networks (made in USA) bandwidth aggregator which is of a size of an 8 port switch but 3 times costlier but actually uses both simultaniously for full speed but was bought for reliabiity for my office network.

Presently there is nothing for aggregating data cards but who knows there might be some software available to do the same work as my hardware device.

Keep searching on internet and you will find it.

its a bit complicated to setup since one needs to specify which services to use which wan port and then prioratise its fall back. what ever reviews but it has serviced its purpose for last 4 years for me.

there are a lot of people asking questions about wireless data card software based bandwidth aggregators.

It might be a geek stuff but no choice but you have to read through all the blogs and forums to find which one works but still doubt it might be worth the efforts to brag about super speeds because there is a fundamental difference in how a data card functions on 3G and an MLP5 Network Architecture of a leased line.

If its for genuine use you might just take 2 leased line from tata and bsnl and buy a cisco aggregator costing 1.8 lakhs
