A lady buys grocery worth Rs.350 from a shop. (shopkeeper selling the goods with zero profit)
The lady gives him 2000 rs note. The shopkeeper gets the change from next shop, keeps 350 for himself and returns Rs.1650 to d lady.
Later the shopkeeper of the next shop comes with the Rs.2000 note saying “duplicate” and takes his money back.
“How much LOSS did the shopkeeper face ?”
A. 350
B. 1650
C. 2350
D. 3650
E. 4000
F. Other(Specify Amount)
Ignore the lady and goods at npnl because that transaction is over… 2000 gaye seedhe seedhe from his own pocket
Loss : 2000
Lady’s profit = shopkeeper’s loss
Lady gained 350Rs worth product and 1650 change amount so shopkeeper incurred a loss of 2000
Same answer
4000
2000 duplicate note + 350 goods + 1650 given to lady
loss = 1650 + 2000 +350 worth goods
= 4000
,,
assumption made
shopkeeper had 4000 rs cash
and worth only 350 of goods for sake of ease of calculation
Bro if the 2000 RS note was not fake then their was no loss and if it is fake then loss will be off 2000 only.
No loss because it’s lockdown time.
2000 as until the shopkeeper came he was not having loss he gave shopkeeper 2000 and thats the loss
=1
Loss is 4k ,1650+350(worth products) looted by lady and 2000 by another shop keeper by returning fake note to victim shop keeper.
Total loss 1650+350+2000= 4000
Net profit = Net Loss
So, Lady’s profit = 350(goods)+1650(change)
= 2000/-
Rs.0 (Shopkeeper will find some other person to exchange fake note)
This is simplest explanation that I used to give others when I first came across this puzzle few months back.
If the fake note is passed on, there is no loss. If no one takes the currency and the shopkeeper is bound to burn the fake note of ₹2000, he will make a loss of that amount ie. ₹2000.

AD nahi dekhi kya?
For people finding answer, just imagine he had sufficient cash with himself.
Ans. 2000
Total Loss= 350(goods)+ 1650 Change Given to Lady + 2k to other shopkeeper.= 4000
Thats true, but you are missing one 2K transaction, the other shopkeeper had given 2K on the first day itself in actual cash when the original guy exchanged the fake note, so that should be deducted here
Basically, we returned the other shopkeeper what he gave us the first day (so that 2K is nullified) and the loss was the amt given to the lady
Dukaandar ke reference Mai dekhlo kya hua ,
Uski sabzi gyi,aur 2000 rupay bhi wapas kiye to wo bhi gye.
2350.
Pehle din uske pass 350 bache bhi to the, so net loss of 2000
Lockdown ke kya din agye imaginary Bande Ka hisaab kitaab krra hu.
Shopkeeper’s loss should be somebodys gain. Here the neighbour shopkeeper hadn’t make any loss or gain. The lady made a gain of 350+1650 so shopkeeper’s loss is 2000. If 4000 is the answer who gained remaining 2000?
4k
correct answer is 2000,
u can do practical at home, not difficult at all. if shop keeper loss is 4000 then who gained 4000?
black money nhi he jo chhupa loge
There could be another explanation too with loss of 350, if we assume that the shopkeeper has only 350 left to return to the other shopkeeper, so he returned that and his only loss was of rupees 350 in the form of stock, the remaining 1650 was borne by the other shopkeeper
Obviously, cash doesn’t have any overdraft facility, but this only works on the assumption that the shopkeeper never had any money of his own
Let’s go step by step -
Transaction between shopkeeper and lady
He gave 350 (grocery)
Kept 350 (money)
Cancelled out.
And then he gave that lady 1650.So loss here is 1650
Transaction btwn Shopkeeper with shopkeeper 2
Loss of 2000
Net loss = 3650
@androgame what about this ?Ye galat h kya koi check kro.
Amol ji, yeh 100% correct hai.
3650 is the total loss of shopkeeper
(2000 other shopkeeper+1650 to lady )
(As he got 350 cash for his product so 350 is always with him)
3650 (2k fake note which he had to return in original to the other shopkeeper is totally from his pocket + 1650 – the amount he returned to the woman from his pocket)
The shopkeeper got 350 real cash. So no loss of stuff sold to a lady.
This is very simple 2000 rs loss to shopkeeper only . Let’s make it simple
1- when lady gone after buying some item nobody were in profit or loss and
2- when other shopkeeper exchanged with real one from main shopkeeper. He gave 350real cash+1650 new cash from pocket .
So finally other shokeeper having no profit or loss
Main shopkeeper having 2k Rs loss
Customer having 2k rs profit.
In whole case who thinks that other shopkeeper earned 2k
…whats the correct answer?….
Great bro…
As simple as that 2000
lol ye halat he simple question me bhi, fir bolenge log ki china aur japaan ko takkar dega india
