Cleartrip GV use

I have cleartrip GV worth 5000 but the GV no. is known to someone else also.
Hence I want to use it in some way like add to cleartrip wallet – is that possible?
I don’t have any bookings to make in near future so that option is not there

No, Cleartrip doesn’t allow to accumulate GCs like Amazon or FK.
As for somebody else having the GC number, don’t worry. The GC can not be used without the PIN/code. I am assuming you didn’t give the PIN/code to the other person so you need not worry about him/her using the GC.

I have not tried this. But I am pretty sure this won’t work as Cleartrip issues refunds back to
By the way, never try this stunt with MMT GCs as they don’t have a clear policy for processing refunds if you pay via GCs.

i believe he is afraid that gc would be locked after few invalid pin attempts

AFAIK, after canceling the cleartrip gv a new gv is issued. I am not sure though

I know, bro. Should have highlighted the “new GC” part. Made an appropriate edit in my original post. Anyway, my point was that you can not convert a Cleartrip GC to money in the wallet or bank. Thanks for confirming that.
I have tested it in past…..used gv for booking and for refund in wallet……u can do that

atleast this would solve @bargainhunter issue right. the new gc would be not known to the other guy.

book one hotel with free cancellation and cancel the booking. u’ll get new gv in same email id from which u booked the hotel..
