You really have some big patience to withstand the barrage of their copy paste messages. Even before I type a single line they would have copy pasted 3 paragraphs. Before I finish reading they would ask if I am still online. And when I would be trying to comprehend what I asked and what they have told the next reply would be ‘if they can help me with any other issue’.

the stopping of COD may be an attempt to try protect the hassle of the logistics teams facing the wrath of irate customers (who too are justified in feeling short changed).

It is unclear (even after discussing with various Amazon people) how they are addressing these whims of the rat pack or how stopping pay on delivery orders will help circumvent such ‘rules’.
Last I checked, orders with payment method ‘COD’ were getting placed and also successfully processed.

it will be dumb to receive an order for n99rs but pay n99 plus x percent tax because local body corporation wants you to! 
P.S.: even i am not sure how best they can circumvent by only accepting prepaid parcels. they = logistics guys.
also, for parcels coming by India Post, do the local corporation expect the great IPS to declare to them the on-line orders differently. 
I recently shipped 2 orders to UP through Ecom Express. I under declared the value by 40% just to avoid theft by some delivery guy and had to pay 300 rs entry tax. I would have to pay 600 rs if i had declared the original value. Ecom Express bills the shipper for all the taxes.
This is the problem shipping to these states and mostly no ecom site ships to these states to avoid hassles of entry tax.
is there any rule change regarding road tax above 5k value shipments, i am very happy from this decision i am from ghaziabad i used to ship to my friends address in delhi will purchase amazon prime service
