Cred older versions still allowing debit card option to make card payments.
If you have old apk, version number 2.0.3.13, it is allowing to pay via debit card.
Here are the exact steps to pay via debit card:
1 clear current app data
2 uninstall the current app
3 switch off the mobile data/ wifi
4 install the older version apk, 2.0.3.13 or below
5 launch the app and enter the registered mobile number and click accept
6 now switch on the mobile data/ wifi and complete login
7 choose credit card and make payment via debit card
upon further launch of the app, it detects old version and ask to do a force update. If you face the force update issue then follow the above steps, excluding no 2 and 4
Till now, cred has not found that debit card option is working in the earlier versions, so mostly this will be detected by them soon, till then take the benefit of it, enjoy

If you have redmi phone…. Just install using redmi app store (Getapps).
Open cred and click update then click back.
Signin >> choose cards >> payment.
Note- after closing the app, and restart.. you will force to update. And if you want to pay again, clear cred app data and signin again…..
Complicated but working for me.
I did what you said, but after opening cred app it asks for update and goes to google play for update and if click back again then it again asks for update.

Yes i have the same version. Only the force update dialogue is bit irritating.
For me .. it is not showing any forced update notification 
. But after one payment with Debit Card, for next it says up to 2000 only 
Use apk editor change version number , may solve update error
why do we need debit card to pay cc bill? any benifits?

SBI Debit card has 50K per month limit.
If already txn done on this card then 50K txn will not go through.
I was using this method to make payments via debit card however for the past 2 days it’s not allowing, gives an error " We will refund the money in 5 days, if debited. It may be noted that money doesn’t get debited. Is this method still working for anyone ?
Not working for me too. I think they found out people are paying through this method

Same old apk..paid 1499 and it was successful

Leaving cred no other third party provider facilitates with the option of paying via debit card.
Mobikwik does. I am paying now by Mobikwik only. Cred stopped working. Amazon also came up paying credit card bill with debit card but it is currently active for few users only.
Last time i tried (10 days back*)..too many failed payments so i skipped trying
