I have amazon pay icici credit card with limit of 50000 but I want to purchase item of 58000. If I make a advance payment of 10000 and make a purchase of 58000 item. In such a case they will apply over limit charges?

It is discussed few months back and I too wanted to know.
Many replied – Yes and they did it already without over-limit charges.
It all depends on card , you have to take risk. I never did.
Transaction may get declined but over-limit charges can not be applied as cash is already there – My opinion
Add 8k pay balance and then pay 50k through cc.
Direct 58k would declined
Seems best option if you do not want to go through effort of extending limit temporarily..
Same rule can be used.. give the seller 8k and swipe card for 50k
You can do that. I had done multiple times for icici credit card in past. (1-2 year back)
Over limit charge apply?
I don’t think that it would work .. even after your additional payment, you limit would remain as max for your card .. that’s how it happened for my HDFC when I made additional payment ..
Try contacting customer support and ask for temporary increase in limit .. check netbanking too to see if option is available
