The government, via an office memorandum today, announced its decision to put on hold the hike in DA< for the year. (In March, the union cabinet had approved an increase of 4% in DA to 21%.)

Centeral government employees and pensioners will now continue to receive DA at current rates, i.e., 17 per cent as part of their salary/pension, according to the office memorandum.

The memorandum further states that no arrears will be paid from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.

However, any hike in DA due to revision on July 1, 2021 will take into account the previous hikes as well.

No DA hike for 18 mths.
Forced deduction of 1 day salary every month for 13 months.
But Rs.20,000 Cr will be spent on redevelopment of Central Vista and construction of new PM’s residence.

Whats wrong with the present one? Is it necessary under present situation, and at the cost of Rs.20,000 Cr? Why not divert the amount to PM CARES fund instead.

Hope the Italian family would also donate all the land and properties they snatched/looted from the nation. Their contribution alone could fetch immense amount for the fight against coronavirus.

And who do you think is running the govt right now, with the powers to snatch all that back?

Why not start with the black money stashed abroad, which was their original big promise?

Why not first divert the PM Cares money to the poor in actual? wink

Please dont give them more ideas. They already have enough for the next round of investment into the MLAsforsale.com startup.

The present govt has been very lethargic in dealing with the political corruptions of the past. It was just a add-on suggestion given the young leader in opposition has been fondly giving ideas to the govt on how to efficiently deal with coronavirus crisis.

There is no denying of the fact that the present govt has performed miserably poor in dealing with the economic and social fallout of the epidemic, and that there is little hope that all of this will be rectified any soon.
