Desidime Basic Forum Etiquette
Lately, I have been saddened by the fact that, almost all comments on a thread are meaningless.
I prefer cynicism over unthoughtful, inconsequential comments that floods several discussions. “Nice deal”, “VUnS”, “Vusoq (or whatever the f*ck you call it)” and the next thing you know, you have created a place where people are only interested in submitting deals and getting it upvoted rather than make meaningful contributions.
For God’s sake, there’s a button to upvote, there’s one for suggesting the deal, and there’s one to give karma.
Please don’t make another meaningless reply, to the never-ending list of waste crap.

I have been a member of various forums from different domains such as tech, travel blog, railway blogs etc over the last 15 years. Moderated a few of the tech forums also(both Indian & Global). Desidime was the first forum i signed up for outside my usual interest( tech, travel).I have been associated with desidime for over 5 years now and as OP mentioned , Quality of posts/threads has gone down significantly in the last 2 years. Off topic’s are now more of a norm than exception. Lack of respect for moderating team is clearly evident in a lot of threads.
I don’t know how many of you are a member of Team Bhp automotive website. You get banned there for posting off topics, improperly constructed sentences , one liners etc. They have taken forums etiquette to a bizarre level while Desidime is exact opposite. I guess we need to find a middle path somewhere when it comes to enforcing basic rules of posting in a public forum ie neither being too strict( Team bhp) nor being too lenient( Desidime). These days going through any thread in hot deal section and coming across series of VU & suggested is just a serious pain. Like OP mentioned, why not use the click of the mouse to VU and suggest.
Another kind of frustrating posts i come across very commonly is " i have seen this stuff in this website 100 days ago for 5 rs less. I mean, come on. If you don’t like a deal, use a Vote down button or simply move on to next deal. Nobody wants to know how much was the price you saw for something ages go. One needs to understand that there is a logic behind E commerce pricing which depends on so many factors such as festive , competitors price, decline in supply etc etc.
