Actually .. Even Amazon didn’t do for a mobile i purchased which i didn’t even opened, but still they didn’t do refund. So chances are very less …. Unless that product is defective and they don’t have replacement available then they will do refund (As told by Amazon )

It’s very natural and right thing from their side to reject your request. They should not take replacement just because you changed your mind one day.
If you ask for the same thing at any local stores, they will slap you 1st and talk later for the issue. (don’t take it personally but this is right thing)

Sorry they would not.
They will just arrange a call from VU customer care at best! https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_rolleyes.gif

Gone are the days when you can return any product coz you don’t want it anymore. Even if you cook up a story that your product is defective, rest assured that FK will send either a service personal from VU or one of their one tech guy to validate your claim. I would say unless there really is a defect, don’t even bother contacting them requesting for a refund.

Nope, it means that you can’t exploit their policies anymore. Genuine cases are still attended to without any issues.

First he purchased RN3, got it replaced twice and in the end he got the refund. Now even before placing he was asking dimers to purchase Vu or TCL. I suggested him to first check offline. He ordered but now he wants to return. Why? Just because he didn’t like it https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_eek.gif
OP put yourself in place of seller and assume what do you do when the Customer wants to return an open boxed item just because he didn’t like it. Will you purchase such an item at the same price as that of sealed pack item?
Things like these make E Commerce companies focus less on Customer Service and the result in front of us. Amazon has changed so much in terms of its Customer Service in the last 8-9 months.

PS – I know OP won’t like it but it is the hard truth here

But bro keep this point also in mind. When you don’t like any product for which you have paid you feel like returning it if possible. And when we shop online we don’t get to see the product physically this becomes very troublesome. And offline this TV was not available. And i am not forcing any eCommerce site to provide me the refund, i just asked if they can

And lastly the 2 phones which i had ordered from amazon was having defect so returned it. First one was flashing flash automatically while cam app is on and second one was having a dot on every pictures which i click. https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_wink.gif

I am not harming the products which i have bought, and if i want to return it i take care of it till the product gets picked up from me.

Its easier said than done buddy. Who will believe you that you haven’t harmed the product? You purchase a Car, you get out of the showroom and you don’t like it. Does the Showroom Manager takes the Car back at same price even though you just crossed the showroom gate? No way!! Many times i have seen that shopkeepers offline do not accept any return even if the product is defective forget about returning it when it’s not defective. Why do you want the E Commerce companies to not go the same way. Sometimes one should see the other side of the coin also.

I was in a similar fix about VU TVs but never really jumped in to get one. I do agree that you do not get to see it in offline stores before you decide but that’s a risk you have knowingly signed up for when you ordered the TV.

I guess you have no other option but to retain the TV sadly.

Might happen eventually but not anytime soon. In US I see major retailers selling goods as open box and at a decent discount but for that to happen in India the market has to mature more.

I personally know friends who treat buying used products as a taboo, leave alone open box.

Yeah, they should get a chance to visit the US once and discover for themselves how even “rich” people buy and sell used cars.

I think we need a system to verify the authenticity of used products too. If I am not wrong with the VIN number of a car you can get the entire history of it which is evidently absent in India.

Coming back to electronics. I blindly trust used Apple devices as I can verify the warranty details of it with the serial number and all I need is that, this is still a basic level of verification as there is every possibility of damage to the device that isn’t covered under warranty but I can still have a certain level of confidence. I see such a system to be lacking with most other brands.

My point is that, if we have a system set in place to verify the credentials of a used product then we can have lot more people opting for it.

Yes, that is absolutely correct. One can even purchase detailed service, insurance claims, and ownership records from a site like Kelley Blue Book.

Well, the real problem in India is the stigma (religious/rahu-ketu/jaadu-tona) associated with buying used things.
