DTH - Airtel or TataSky
Hi Fellow Dimers,
I am planning to buy a new DTH connection, wanted to know your suggestions to select the DTH operator.
1. Monthly Expenses – I understand this depends on the channels I choose, which one is cheaper for an average user (hindi daily soaps/movies/music/) do not plan to subscribe to HD channels as they cost very high for the time being, not planning to subscribe to sports/english/news channel {recently got married 
}.
2. Quality of signal – I hear feedback that Tatasky is better than Airtel, though both go off during rains.
3. Initial Cost – Might consider taking HD box to be future proof, but not a cumpulsion.

Anyhow OP … go for TataSky if u compare with airtel.
Just search once for Old DTH Discussion threads! you get more clarity
And if u consider offers while recharge then don’t consider airtel as no site offers cashback on airtel

Go for Airtel Recorder box (500GB) its the best you can get and mark my words you will not repent..
Go for Annual MEGA HD Pack with HD Recorder box, and you can get at 10500 or 11000, whichmeans effectively you getting the 500GB recorder box along with installation at 4000 (mrp of box is 6500) means.You can ask local airtel dealer as online offers don’t show this . Its available in Delhi, one of my colleague got it installed..
With Recorder you get two inputs so you can view one channel and record another.. please note with plain Recorder plus box where you record using pendrive (they call it unlimited recording) you can record what you are watching .This may help only when you are away and put the program to record. another problem is you have to use many Pendrives to record movies.so need indexing..
I am using Recorder box for past two years and believe me , almost everyday all of my family says its the best thing we have
