Ebay hav stopped giving 100 off on 150 or 150 off on 250 coupons to new a/c’s from the time it has started giving Sankalp deals. The benefit has completely gone to ebay coz instead of giving 100 or 150 off per user with new a/c now its giving only around 10-20 Rs. per user.
Take the example of Dermicool :- Instead of 60 Rs. its giving it for 19 Rs. & ebay must be purchasing it in bulk for around 30-40 Rs. So its giving only around 11 Rs. (30-19) per user instead of giving 100 or 150 Rs. per user so net benefit of 90 or 140 Rs.
With this offer its getting new a/cs coz of very cheap price so new users r happy, products are getting promotion so even the companies r happy n must be paying ebay for advertising it. So to sum up everything is going well 4 ebay.:-)
i would think its good marketing…..people who bought that dermi cool will go and tell 10 others in office …then those ten will get interested even if they don’t know computers. Had they stuck to their coupon policy….getting more people to shop online would not have been as effective. I’m sure you will see surf excel and other products that will attract housewives too in the future…they want to capture all categories of buyers
