Nope! no reservations for Jains, we are considered as minorities. means Jains are few in the world. but it has nothing to relate with reservation. you can check the same on Google or INDIAN government page for casts differentiation. Jain falls under general category.
Check this as well – https://www.quora.com/Since-Jains-are-declared-...

Reservation should be removed for the progress of the country
But if we think practically we will have to accept that it will not be removed in near future because none of the politicians have guts to speak against this injustice and if any politician speaks then his political career will be over because of reserved vote bank

I come from a family which is considered to be one of the topmost castes in our system and therefore belong to the general category. I say this here because I have a very important question to all those people from the general category who talk against reservations:
Why does no one from the reserved categories speak against this system? Do you guys think that all of them are either unintelligent or greedy?
Please think rationally and then answer. There is no need to get emotional or play the victim.
Bhai free main reservation mile baithe baithe to koi kyu bolega reserved walo main se ? general walo ki to le rkhi hai .

Guys what’s going on here ??
I hope this budding stars won’t get suspended
I am not going to comment on the merits or demerits of reservation because this debate never has got any conclusions. Reservations were introduced so that unequals’ are not treated equally. The present reservations are being garnered mostly (yes in schools reservation hardly matters and it starts playing major role in admissions to professional courses and jobs) by those who were born 18-20 years back. There parents would be at least 40-45 years (even more) of age and most of them definitely are from rural back ground. The so called upper caste people always knew the importance of education and irrespective of their economical conditions they would stress on education of their kids. But that’s not the case with the castes which are being provided reservations. They have mostly concentrated on making their wards bring income to sustain them and their family (exceptions are always there and here I am talking about the parents of present generation kids who didn’t get good education). Most of these parents are backward be it in terms of education, jobs or economical conditions (remember not every of these castes were socially exploited and such castes are not given reservations if they are from urban regions). So for obvious they too didn’t stress on the education of their kids and they grew without quality education or proper mentoring.
School years are very important for a kid to get their basics right and it has been proven. So expecting them to compete with those who have had good facilities in terms of education and life would be wrong. Not that everyone from general category are well off but at least most of them would have tried to give their kids good education but again the larger picture of under privileged has to be considered. Reservation tries to answer unequal situation of these people during their younger years and tries to give them a reasonable chance to compete with the better off (not necessarily in terms of monetary situation).
But again politics, directed reservation to the underprivileged, their identification is all due to systemic failures and we can go on debating about it. Just that we are not eligible for reservation doesn’t mean we always have to argue against it. Oh by the way how many of us have tried to go to court even knowing that someone has claimed reservation when their dads are businessmen and can still show meager income?
PS: There are always a minority of underprivileged in upper class but the greater will is important. I don’t mean to hurt anyone and if you are hurt for some reason forgive me or go ahead and bash me up in PM.

Fine its an interesting issue n controversial too u can talk against issue or for it, belong to genernal category most ot time it very much annoyed me but when u dig in to issue n analyse they made all these becoz for equallity n to encourage those ppl who can’t afford much money to study/job/lead life but irony is that these reservation quota been over exploited n those who really deserved it r not getting nothing..
Yes, I support caste based reservation for SC/STs. You need to understand how bad SC/ST were suppressed to know why they need reservation. Even in today’s India, outside cities, a SC/ST person is not able to get basic facilities easily. People refuse to rent houses for SC/ST. Racial discrimination is abundant in college hostels and even in schools, leading to suicides/dropouts in many cases. Heck, the grandparents of the people of my generation were not even allowed to wear shirt, enter temple, pass through upper caste people’s roads. Without reservation, their quality of life would not have changed one bit. We should not look at the city-born SC/ST people who have misused the reservation who are a minor number compared to the plight of the SC/STs all throughout the nation, especially those who do not live in the cities.
Creamy layer is a debatable topic, I do not have strong opinions on it. However, I will not agree to the total fall of standards because of SC/ST reservation, as depicted by anti-reservation campaigns. In fact every year, the quality of the candidates coming in through reservation is increasing. Look at the minimum cutoff mark level going up every year for SC/STs for example in Tamil Nadu medical entrance exams https://plus.google.com/+JMarianoAntoBrunoMasca...
We can add more regulations to SC/ST reservations by bringing in constraints like that they should not immigrate out of India for the next 10 years as a moral repayment to the society or add creamy-layer etc. Again all these points are debatable. But getting away with the caste (SC/ST) based reservation totally is wrong.
Every year we lose more seats to management quota than to SC/ST quota in Indian colleges. So that should be changed. In fact we should get away with the management quota seats concept itself and all seats should be filled in only via statewise counseling. Sadly none of the students or lecturers will protest against these management quota seats, which is a bigger evil than caste based reservation.
Also, I have never understood people who oppose caste based reservation but strongly support gender based reservation.

Reservation can never be the cause of equality if there is reservation for some special category
Suppose I am from general category and some people from sc-sts got admission on 63% marks and I failed to get admission on 79.11% it would create caste friction(it happened with me)
Maintain decorum in the forum.

In an ideal society, there won’t much difference in reserved categories and general categories. If there is too much difference in it, something is wrong with the society. may be bad karma of your ancestors.
Reservations ki toh….!👿👹 I have to pay double the fees just because i belong to high class open category. My employers dont say, “hey , here have some more money as u belong to open category”. M@#%@®F******
Reservations should not be there..
If it has to be then it should be restricted to give education based on the income of that family.. JUST EDUCATION…
When it comes to jobs… staw away… JUST STAY AWAY….

If you are saying that there is not much difference between general and sc/St then what is the need of reservation and if as you said we are paying for our ancestors s bad karma then I want to know if there is any special law in India s constitution to punish the future generation of someone s misdeeds and if there is some law then there are many others to be punished
