As per the latest DGCA Guidelines, passengers travelling to and from the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport can claim a refund of the excess UDF charges.
How to claim your refund:
1. Domestic passengers travelling after 07 July can claim a refund within 45 days of travel while International travelers can claim a refund within 60 days of travel respectively.
2. Modes of claiming your refund:
-If reservation is made through travel agent, refund needs to be claimed from them.
-If reservation is made from Airline website, mobile app or call center, you can tweet us, or message us on Facebook or contact our call center.
3. After the deadline, the unclaimed amount will be remitted by the airlines to the airport operator.
4. Passengers who have booked their tickets on or before 07 July but are yet to commence their travel are not required to file for refund as airlines will initiate the refund process on their own.
I booked ticket via Paytm on 4th July for travel on 6th August and though my refund was supposed to be processed on own still I contacted Paytm beforehand and received ₹508 as refund for the trip that too without adjusting any cashback amount.

Added now. Thanks for reminding.
is this only for LCC or international airlines too ?
Have they refunded the amount automatically or did you follow up with them? I am taking many flights to & fro Delhi during the period August September and October and haven’t received refund for any flight till now. All flights booked pre 7th July and through travel agents like paytm, cleartrip etc. Any help would be much apreciated
As per indigo TnC for journeys post 19th July the refund will be automatic but I contacted Paytm myself with this and one other booking and have received refund for both.
Even I recd a mail regarding this from makemytrip, they mentioned that amt will be automatically refunded if my booking is eligible for such refund.
+1
But I am yet to hear from them again. No refund received yet for my refund-eligible bookings.
I got Rs 171 only as refund from paytm for chennai-delhi flight. Should it be more?
Check in your ticket for UDF charged earlier under Fare Breakup
I have Booked Via MMT GV. How to get Refund ?
Edit: Just Checked Ticket from Indigo UDF Charged is Rs 54 only ( Booked on 2 Aug )
Yatra processed ₹551 UDF refund
Travel Date: 04/08/2017
Ok. Here is the latest on UDF refund through travel agents:
Paytm immediately refunded as Paytm Cash on sending email even before the travel
Easemytrip and Akbar travels sent email that the UDF shall be refunded post travel
Cleartrip has not refunded till now even after the travel. Instead sent a very vague email stating that UDF shall be refunded after it is received from airlines though I have already completed travel and as per DGCA letter, UDF for future bookings pre-july to be refunded by airlines automatically
You are not alone on cleatrip non refund issue…Follow up with them daily on mail for faster processing of refund
