Flipkart Assured-Flipkart launches speedy, loyalty service to take on Amazon

Loyalty service called Flipkart Assured promises speedier delivery of products and better quality of service

http://www.livemint.com/Companies/5yhFSHFEADZbv...

In 2014, Flipkart had launched a similar service called Flipkart First, which flopped with customers as the company didn’t throw its weight behind the service.

To ensure a better customer uptake this time, Flipkart said it has undertaken “deep efforts across its entire value chain to launch this programme.”

Apart from the quality check process, all Flipkart Assured purchases will be packed and shipped by the company.

Too late, amazon has already taken a huge lead in terms of customer satisfaction. People like me have stopped shopping from fk altogether.

I can wait a couple of days more to get my product but it is the customer care attitude of flipkart which is the worst. They think they are doing us a favour by selling us stuff. When amazon is offering good services and a huge catalog why would anyone buy their “First” services?

Flipkart should launch these services for their relatives and employees only….

When we order something, they cancel the order, so who gonna buy from Flipkat except for exclusive launches and VU TV’s https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_wink.gif

That’s a good move by Flipkart !
Well, I believe their service is very nice in many areas.
They have nationwide delivery network for even high priced items where amazon does not deliver.
Don’t know what has happened to amazon in past few months , they are not delivering many products worth less than as 5000 rs in my areas.
Whereas Flipkart delivers even 50000 rs product ..
Amazon’s good service is limited to only metro cities , that too very selected few.
Even in Chandigarh they usually takes 5-6 days to deliver. Where Flipkart delivers in a single day.

ATS is degraded service provider now.

Don’t know , but in terms of service, my vote goes to Flipkart.

None of the amazon exclusive phones are delivered at my home address in Punjab , where as all the products that are Flipkart exclusive are delivered at my address within 2-3 days.

The only thing they can boast of is their logistics wing, ekart. They have never failed so far, not even once in all these years. And this one area where ATS need to improve a lot. But rest assured they are doing it. I’ve seen a lot of changes in their logistics team after Prime. I strongly believe they will take over Flipkart in this area as well. https://cdn1.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_smile.gif

In terms of customer support, Flipkart is nowhere near Amazon. The most recent case is that of Sony headphones at 294. Seller was WSRetail. They cancelled the order with the reason that the item was out of stock with the seller. But it was in stock at a higher price when I checked. Immediately wrote a mail to their escalations team. In 5 minutes, I got another mail saying the order was cancelled due to an error in price listing. It was followed by a call from their escalations executive. I told him how cheap their team has become giving false reasons for order cancellations. He acknowledged their fault but could not give a convincing reply. I said I didn’t look for any compensation but a genuine response is the least a customer could ask for. He agreed but was at a loss for words when I said Flipkart is losing its goodwill they strived so hard to develop.

Now they have to go a long way to gain their customers back. Speedy delivery is something they are already good at. Obviously, it alone is not helping them run their business. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif

agree with half your points like faster delivery, not serviceable pin codes….both are same for me too. also suddenly no bottled package and half the beauty products are not delvierable to my area. But Even after taking these points in to account, i have shopped in flipkart for 1000 only ( excluding an ac purchase in may) and 20000(excluding gift cards) in the last 4 months

As I told I hardly give a damn about delivery times. It is what happens after delivery if there are issues. Maybe flipkart doesn’t have lots of deliveries to do so they might be delivering it fast (jk). Also amazon delivers to any pincode serviced by India post (not all products though) but flipkart doesn’t do that.

+1
Also India Post has helped Amazon gain more area coverage from the initial days to the present day. They provide quite good delivery times and the package will be very safe on delivery with no damages. Also they have very good tracking updates on their site. Pity to see that a Private MNC company is reaping the benefits by using the services of a well run govt organisation where as some of the govt offices use the private couriers to send documents and items. https://cdn3.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_sad.gif

Flipkart and amazon are now behaving like those 2 aunties who live in front of each other’s house and try to compete in everything. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif

If you wish for that wish for amazon to shut down too and lets all go back to previous BM store purchases. Monopoly is never a good thing for us end consumers.

But that instant discount on Cards (instead of cashbacks) was a pioneering effort in Indian eCom by Flipkart and continues to be so. Gotta love Flipkart for that.

Prime Vs Assured (aka First) is not just about delivery timelines. Amazon can bundle a lot of services like Prime Video, Music, Cloud, Kindle ebooks, etc in future which Flipkart won’t be able to match.

It isn’t a subscription.
Flipkart Assured is comparable to “Amazon Fulfilled” instead of Amazon Prime.
More like a much needed rebranding of the earlier “Flipkart Advantage” badge.

I think this might have to do with reinforcing the Marketplace model. WSRETAIL continues to be the single largest seller. I don’t remember having purchased an item from Flipkart if the seller was not WSRETAIL, except may be a few phone cases.

Guaranteeing the same level of assurance as with WSR might tip the balance towards other key seller partners, I guess.

Just my guesswork and opinions.

Na, they themselves are not interested in having FF members. I’ve not got anything exclusive out of it in these two years. My subscription ends this month and that’s it. https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif
