Hi Friends, need your suggestion if you faced similar issue and anything can be done/expected from customer care in such scenarios :

I recently ordered shoes in flipkart recent fashion sale for 3600rs which was 5% discount over base selling price 3789rs.
Next day flipkart started offering 10%+10% on same product effectively dropping price to 3031rs.
As I already consumed my 360rs quota from hdfc offer(10% disc, max – 500) on last day shoe purchase, I could not reorder the shoes with maximum discount. I also did not get much time to arrange for other card as came to see this only 1 hour before the sale end.

I had a call with customer care, where she rejected for my claim for difference value refund and said flipkart is not liable.
But I feel a bit cheated that in same sale I ordered a product and next day others were able to buy cheaper.
Fk/Amazon could implement a standard policy to compensate in such issues for same sale/7days period.

Will helpful if anybody can share I am thinking in wrong direction and this should not be eligible for difference refund.

PS Product : https://www.flipkart.com/adidas-zeta-1-0-m-runn...
Thanks.

No price match/guarantee policy yet here in India unless specified (Amazon does this for selected products)
The only option u have now is to keep the product or return for refund

Had somewhat similar experience, Bought adidas backpack for 1951 during hdfc offer. The day it was delivered, the price was decreased to 1658 & only few minutes were left in the HDFC sale, so i decided to buy 2 of these backpacks this time 1658×2 & then cancel the order which was delivered. Bought the bags, tried to cancel the previous order, got only exchange option, so talked to flipkart cc & explained to them the situation that the price has decreased & this time have ordered 2 & so got the previous order cancelled. Unfortunately before the delivery the status changed to courier damaged in transit & finally this order was cancelled too.
& now price was increased to 1771, & now no hdfc offer. So talked to flipkart cc again & asked them for reimbursing me for the price difference but they flatly refused, Had no choice but to place the order again without hdfc offer, increased price & last but not least, flipkart cashback had been removed from the cashback site i use, so lost 250 cashback too.

price are subjected to seller T&C. Therefore, nothing can be done.

Online shopping too is like share market. You buy when you think the price is right. If it goes up, it’s your profit n if it goes down, it’s your loss. Flipkart or Amazon is not guaranting any price guarantee on the stuff they sell. Only if they say ‘lowest price guarantee’, then your argument of compensation holds.

Cribbing about price drops will not help. You never mention about the bargains you got during the sale and how price went up after you purchased it. Further, trying to manipulate the orders by calling CC is only going to make it harder for future buyers with genuine issues.

Now amazon also not giving price difference refunds earlier they used to give. Saying they have changed their policies.

Thanks for your honest opinion.

2 things : 1. Share/Stock market is a a peer to peer buying system and each individual’s order is filled by somebody else who thinks in opposite direction(buy/sell). This is a centralized thing where fk in same sale can easily manipulate the prices giving you an making you feel we dropped prices today – buy it ! Everybody buys but next day when most have bought they further reduce the price(Market manipulation).

2. I expect them to be consistent/refund for same sale(maybe I am wrong, learning bro). Did you see where I was disrespectful for the offers fk/amazon provide? please don’t go personal on this.

Not worse situation, its just few hundred bucks, & if by “rekt life” you mean wrecked life, again its just a few hundred bucks.
I was just unlucky in this purchase, though bags are really good & hoping thee quality is as they look.

Yes no price match or guarantee but its still ok on their part too. They never claimed anything or mentioned about price guarantee, previously they were refunding the difference but that was a goodwill gesture on their part. Now after the funding crunch and already prevalence in market its totally expected amd theres nothing wrong in that.

This post itself is irrelevant. FK/AZ do not show any price guarantee or price matching info on their website (in general). So sellers are free to sell their stuff at any price given its not above MRP. They are not bound to give you price difference if it gets cheaper next day. I don’t know on what basis you are expecting to get back price difference?? may i know your point and argument.

PS: didnot/forgot to mention, I have never asked for any sort of compensation from any website like amazon, flipkart, etc. This time (when the courier got damaged in transit) I asked them not to cancel the order which got damaged in transit & requested them to send a new courier to which they refused & asked me to place a new order, then only I asked for compensation for the price difference as the prices had increased by then, to which they again refused. So finally had no other option, had to have that bag so placed order again on increased prices.

Even if its same seller RetailNet on both days ? Also base price was same and flipkart started offering 10%+10% next day.
