I bought Nokia 8.1 before few days and found two defect in it. so i requested replacement to flipkart under their 10 days policy.
first defect is, it shows yellowish screen without night mode or any other setting. with same setting other friends Nokia 8.1 shows proper color.
seconds is, 3 dead pixels found.

As per Flipkart policy technician (Jeeves engineer) came to check phone. and as per their policy both defects are rejected. They says these two defect are not considered as defect. Upto 3 dead pixels, they consider it as no defect. and any color change in screen also not defect as per their policy.
Even they mention in report that this two issue found. and also mentions that they are not issue.

Now need to visit Nokia service center.

Yellow screen is a huge pain pensive I replaced redmi 4 times but still received yellow screen. They say it manufacturers choice , some tend to make yellow and some blue. While my other devices with bluish screen gave no prob, this yellow quickly developed dead pixels

I wish they mention it on box what screen we r going to get

Ps. I played this video infront of tvs service guy, and he marked my device as defective

On Nokia customer care chat they said visit Nokia service center. so in couple of days i will visit there.

yes… they are saying even same model, two phone can have different colors which is unbelievable.

It seems like just trick to reject replacement.

Exactly, and some like me prefer blue. This is why they should mention on the box, so we won’t be disappointed afterwards. Right now, it’s more of a luck

Yes i have same issue. In my case it is more yellow. its unbelievable that screen can have such huge difference.

Yellow screen is good only when you turn it on manually. while playing game or watching video , it doesn’t show proper color.

1st confirm there is screen colour issue in d phone, and if so U should have asked them via twitter, only then they would take this matter seriously. contact them on twitter.

I saw him other Nokia 8.1 side by side. as i mentioned in OP, that he even mentioned that in his report.

If they deny replacement, you could put screen filter app. It will change the color to blue, it won’t be same as having the original blue whitish screen, but some thing is better than nothing. the yellow is eye sore

Try talking to some flipkart senior executives first , email them, and tweet to them for rejecting return even for a defective device.
Don’t accept their excuses. This shouldn’t be acceptable. A permanent yellow tint on a phone’s display would ruin your experience.
Escalate your complaint and tell them you won’t accept such defects on a new phone and will be left with no choice except going to consumer court.
Search for consumer court complaint forums details from previous threads here and raise an online complaint there and quote that complaint id in email to them.

You should have talked to technician
Once my friend bought a phone there was not a problem at all it was becoming hot a bit sometime or sometimes during charging which is normal.
So technician came no issues found even temp was normal but we convinced him and he said he can make a claim like something happened during check by him something like that i don’t remember exactly and passed our return.

Yeah try consumer forum , many people reported it works.
But i faced once issue with brand factory and it’s still not solved…… I left it because it’s small amount only……

First they send a mail on our behalf of our issue saying they contacted consumer forum and this is the resolution expected etc.
Brand Factory guys did not even care to reply to them also joy

Yeah , i too read success stories after complaining to consumer forum (and another example added to me now is yours) , but i faced this issue. I asked them what if they don’t reply forever , then consumer forum guy told me , i have to physically go to court, i know it’s very powerful but i don’t have time to go there. So i left it in middle only.

i tried to convince the technician about the issue. but he was saying he will do whatever he think better. so even dead pixel , he mentioned in report as normal.
