@raset Star rating is imp only if you are thinking to save power, else go for any stars https://cdn2.desidime.com/assets/textile-editor/icon_toungueout.gif

@raset – 3 or above should be ok. Doesnt make much of a difference.
Tip – Check the year of production on the sticker with stars.
Some stores sell old stock at discounts. (Some prefer to buy previous year models if there isnt a difference in the rating for the same product)

My suggestion is to buy a good refrigerator from a reputed brand with a good star rating from a reliable retailer.

Always go for frost free refrigerators and inverter compressor. 4 stars and above is good. Look for LG, they are the best value for money in this category.
Why frost free? There is no/minimal formation of frost, so better utilization of energy for cooling. And most importantly, it saves you the hassle and chore of defrosting and cleaning/maintenance. Use that time and energy for something better in life.
