Irrespective of that, I think they have done a great job with the device. Pricing might be around 50k in India for base model and around 60k for next model.
Link plz
Daydream VR Should be for snapdragon 820 also.
Damn! They truly intend to compete against iPhone, Rs. 57000 for 32gb model and around 67000 for 128gb.

The phone is being positioned as a premium offering. Having a US price of $649 it is obvious that it will cost lot more in India including all the import duties, taxes and distributor margins.
Anyways, I loved the phone and I hope Google can actually build a brand and reputation like Apple could do. When a company is selling such an expensive device the support ecosystem is very important, including the service centre, software updates etc.

I want to say that android phones are best, i really want to say this from the core of my heart but cant say coz every time i use apple, i fall in love with their os interface.
Personally i dont like apple coz of their restrictions but apple is one mobile that everyone must need to buy once in their lifetime(rest of the tym they should use android but one tym apple is must).

An Apple fanboy spotted
I can give you 100s of reasons where Android is better and I find Apple Utter Shit
If you like Apple ( and have faltu money ) go 4 it.. If you feel more comfortable with Android ( cheaper, most customization ) go 4 it.
This war / arguments is running for years and will keep on running.

This is the issue with Android users/lovers, they never learn to respect others. Sad! All they can do is call names. As soon as someone supports another platform they are labelled fanboys! Lol!
When would Google learn it’s not the hardware it’s their software that needs work

Please keep the following points in mind while discussing iOS/Android : -
1. Android can do million task but without perfection.
2. iOS can do only 100 tasks but with perfection.
After christmas price will go down for sure, not gonna sell iphone and samsung camera, service, features etc way better than this.

I do love to get back to iOS any day but that doesn’t stop me from using other mobile OS too. In fact I use Android more than I do iOS. So am I labelled a droid fanboy now?
Overpriced what are they thinking .

@raghupro wrote:Yeah this is the problem, he is not understanding what i said, i do know that apple cant do thing many things that android can do, i myself use an android and there are a lot of customizations we can do on android without rooting but cant on apple, still there is something different about apple,i dont love apple but i do love their iphone, i literally hate apple for all their policies and restrictions but their iphone 7 is just a masterpiece.

Some people cant understand these things, they will keep on discussing the features but let me tell you something, when my friend gifted the iphone to his father and he found the ios to be very easy to learn and android a little complex.
Those who can understand what i am trying to say, they know the real essence of my message.
Its the legacy that a company carries forward.
@thrifty_indian wrote:Only the price. That’s not the issue. Other flagship phones offer a lot more custom features functionality built on top of vanilla Android. This is stock Android with few exclusive pixel features andthe latest hardware no breakthrough custom features hardware or software that other manufacturers have to spend separately to develop and incorporate.

I was expecting “this”
“An Apple fanboy spotted”
Why people get angry when this phrase is used
As I said, this argument is going on for years and will keep on going. Here is
Every OS is pros and cons. Check this master link – https://www.google.co.in/webhp?sourceid=chrome-... I am a developer and I customize my phone as I needed so I prefer Android.
If you like and feel more comfortable with iOS go for it ( must consider “the cost” ), if you fee more comfortable with Android, go for it ( 1000s of devices for all the budget available).

Many or most people hate the customised UIs like TOuchWiz from Samsung. The ‘features’ others provide mostly just marketing gimmicks. The few ‘exclusive’ features on Pixel like Assistant and camera will what ‘define’ the new PIXEL.
well, is it only me who finds the design of the phone (bezel and screen to phone ratio) too bad?
there might be some technical reasons for that, but personally, it doesn’t look good as compared to the last nexus series, specs wise, it is slightly overprices, but hey, all flagships are overpriced
@thrifty_indian wrote:What one personally likes or dislikes is not the matter of contention. It’s the perceived and real value addition. Nothing in the pixel is an outstanding feature . I’m disappointed to say the least with pricing vis a vis features.

Yes the hype is real that’s why I said earlier in the thread that Google needs to focus on it’s software not hardware. As for the perceived and real value I also said in the previous post that most of the ‘features’ are mere gimmicks. Who needs ‘iris scanner’ how is that a value addition? I even dis ‘finger print scanner’ all the android devices can bypass FRC so there is no ‘real’ benefit of a finger print/iris scanner. What is the need for 2k resolution on a 5 inch screen? Even though LG sells G5 in India and markets it as a ‘modular’ phone but doesn’t sell the ‘modules’? The Google Nexus project started with the focus on stock android experience with top hardware at reasonable price but with Pixel they seem to maneuver around the idea to compete with Apple.
Btw, I am not interested in any such developments. Whichever company can launch a ‘phone’ with direct access to White house I am going to pick the most VFM, I use my phone just for what a phone was invented for and play some games. Signing out!
@thrifty_indian wrote:What I mean to say is how do they justify such pricing is beyond me. Last year Nexus 6p pricing was still at par or cheaper with other android flagships. This time they have outdone themselves. They are from apple to command such pricing.
