I’m trying to buy a domain and need to know if I should be concerned about GST as an individual?
I’m not selling any goods or services. I’m confused about all this halla on gst, gstin…

Any help is appreciated

No, you don’t need to worry about anything. GST filing is for sellers, not buyers.

Case 1: Webhosting companies having their offices in India will include 18% GST automatically in final price biggrin
(Digital Ocean, Godaddy, Hostgator, Bluehost)

Case 2: Remaining companies won’t charge you as they have no office here and so liability would be on you.(final consumer)
(Vultr, OVH, NameCheap)


For Case 1 companies – you have zero liability as GST was collected by webhosting company.

And in Case 2 – Liability is on you but I guess nobody pays for it biggrin

In case 2, what do you mean by liability is mine? If they are not charging it, that must be according to laws. What exactly do i have to do in this case?
I’m thinking of buying either from godaddy or Google

I do not have the GSTIN number and want to buy the domain but GoDaddy does not allow that? Any suggestions from where I can buy that? Thanks.
