I have ordered LG 22MP58VQ-P monitor from paytm for Rs.6600(after hdfc cb + paytm cb) . Today GST on monitors has been decreased from 28 to 18%.
How much time does it take to reflect on online prices?
Does the new tax rate applies from next quarter or on the next day of declaring? If anyone remembers at the time of food gst slashed
Should I cancel the order and wait? I can wait only for a week or two.

It feels so bad that these fu*cking politicians do all this to win elections confused

Bought a monitor 22 inch for Rs.5100

Total tax @ 28% ~ Rs.1400

So, for Rs.5000 purchase, the total tax was around Rs.1400.

I don’t think new rates will be adjusted from next day. All distributers/retails will have to adjust prices in all their machines within a few hours. They should be applicable from next quarter.
Don’t understand why they were charging 28% on monitors in first place? wink

Now they charge 45% flat and I have stopped ordering from US mostly. At least have found other ways through my sister and happily not paying any of those exorbitant taxes. If it was like before wouldn’t mind paying it but now they want to loot us which I will try and avoid.

But also there you have to pay US taxes.. Still far cheaper.. Actually for anything, amazon.in is cheaper and most stuff is available.. So not like 10 years ago.. But when I get gift cards I use it.

Yeah lots of stuff are far cheaper here and they go on huge discounts as they would have not sold. Even I buy because of the amazon.com gift cards I get in bulk sometimes. These days mostly ordering Best Buy gift cards as price matching is easy on BB.

This one – HP22W

https://www.amazon.in/HP-21-5-inch-54-6-Monitor...

This was under a great deal, Rs.5100 net cost plus additional Rs.500 vouchers biggrin

So it cost me around Rs.4700

It is indeed great for the price but one issue >> https://www.amazon.in/gp/customer-reviews/R1BMA...
